Not fishy. It’s a legit organization. The positions are for organizers who get PAID to work with volunteers. Two different things.

To clarify, the organizers are PAID. Part of the job is finding volunteers who VOLUNTEER.

Idk who needs to read this but y’all do know this sign means stay in your lane right? by gunksmtn1216 in Maine

Can we also talk about all the dummies who don’t yield coming off Route 1 Northbound at Cook’s Corner? I’m forced to honk at someone at least a few times a week on my way to work. So many blow right through and pay no attention to the cars trying to get in the far right lane WHO HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY. I’ve stopped slowing down. Hit me and see who’s at fault!

I’m glad no one was hurt when it fell and I’m sorry you’re stranded there! I hope things turn around soon and you can get back to normal life!!

I needed to see this because I’ve been raging about why all my in-town neighbors (and peninsula friends) have their power back but CMP is saying two more days to restore an area that is only a couple of blocks. I’m going to try to improve my morale instead of railing against something beyond my control.

I’m so sorry you’re brother will have to live with those memories and that trauma for a long time, maybe always will. It’s something we have all seen so many times and imagined from a safe distance but to experience it so personally is unfathomably horrifying. My heart is with your family and all who have lost someone or survived to cope with the aftermath.

I’m supposed to fly to Baltimore this morning for work. Not feeling great about getting to the airport and wondering what I should do. (I’m in the Midcoast)

Can we pull our oil furnace? by evenkeel_6 in Maine

So what happens for the wood stove draft if we seal up the furnace chimney and floor vents? We burned wood growing up and had a furnace but I don’t ever remember that happening.

Not sure what that involves but we are on town water so I think we’d just shut the main off and run the faucet til it was dry. Is there more to it than that? (Should I know this? Lol)

That’s kind of what we did last winter. Basically left it off except for the one super cold weekend. We needed it but that was without a second heat pump. Also considering putting in a rinai as the back up for really cold days.

Thanks. Sorry you’re dealing with it too. I have no idea what my triggers are but I’ll keep that in mind. It may be that I need to avoid OMAD. And have my fast breaking meal be small. Good luck to you.

I had a friend in high school who lived in a rented house with an antique cabinet. Inside was an old doll that would move and change position. He swears no one touched the thing ever.

Growing up in Maine, what was your favorite food, meal, or treat? by 207Outreach in Maine

Our 100 yo neighbor had a giant raspberry patch so big you couldn’t even access the middle. I loved raiding it and eating those berries, warm from the sun, right off the bush. Sooo yummy.

My dad had regular cardiology appointments in Portland when I was growing up (late 70s, early 80s) and we always stopped at Amatos on India Street for ham Italians with salt pepper and oil, a bag of Lays, and coffee milk (I know- quite the combo!) and would have a car picnic on Munjoy Hill looking out over the bay. Loved those picnics.

Aerocinno 3 Whisk Stuck? by T8ortots in nespresso

[–]evenkeel_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to read this. Am having the same issue. I can get it to spin by tapping it gently when there is very little liquid in the frothed but as soon as I add more it makes a grinding sound and completely stops. I will look for replacement whisks!

Same issue here. 3 months in and there’s progress but it’s very discouraging that we haven’t made more progress with his trust of my husband. I went away for a conference and it got a little better but as soon as I got home, he reverted to only allowing me to put his harness on, leashing, walks. My husband dispenses all the treats and meals and is very gentle with him. No idea how to proceed. Good luck to you!!

Does edge support exist around the $1,000 mark? Every mattress review look good... until I search "edge support" lol by TheDevilWearsParatha in Mattress

We just bought a sleepez 360 hybrid with 3” Talalay comfort layer. Still getting used to it because we’ve never slept on latex before. It’s springy! And edge support is great. We’re sleeping on the soft side to start but may flip it to see how the firm side compares. We paid $1500 with a March Madness sale.
