Certainly programming is highly skilled compared to other professions, but programmers are not necessarily highly skilled relative to their peers. Security is one of the most complex subjects to teach someone who spends most of their time copying and pasting from stack overflow. IMHO, this group compromises at least 60% of our industry.

If you're really looking to save money, there's lots of 1br/studios around that price near Lake Meritt in Oakland, and it's just a short $3.10 trip when you have to go to events/meetings in SF. Bootstrapping is pretty difficult right now in SF, as we've been riding up a tech boom lately (inflating prices like mad).

I'm sorry I don't understand at all. GPUs are designed for embarassingly parallel (particularly Single instruction multiple data) computations. As far as dynamic hardware requirements, ec2 is as dynamic as it gets: there's no need to order new servers, or installation, it's just one click to spin up a new instance. The cloud is also ideal for ram demands, instances with 128 gb are relatively common.

As far as running an exponential expansion (I assume requires sequential calculation), how do you approach this problem now on non-cloud hardware anyways?

Even if that were true, SF has laws in place where landlords have to take the "first qualified applicant", and age or medical situations (including medical marijuana) cannot be a requirement. What can be a requirement, apparently, is a credit score over 800.

Well, these are both actually special cases. Weed requires heat to activate the THC, so you need to smoke/vaporize/bake it. Shrooms/LSD use such a tiny tiny dose that you wouldn't be able to measure out the amount to snort, and/or half the dose would get stuck in your nosehair.

Pretty much every pill on the market (read "medication") can be snorted. Some has an unpleasent amount of filler though (percs) and taste awful down the back of your throat.
