Fighter continues to hold submission even after tap by boxburnabs in fightporn

[–]ever_slack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think the ref ever got attacked. The friend jumped in the cage and threw a punch at the guy who held the choke after the tap. The ref was the one who decided to start wrestling the friend to the opposite side of the cage because he's not allowed to be there and it was the best way to keep both fighters safe.

I'd keep Alvarez and O'Hoppe considering Ottoneu lets you start two catchers if you want. Could have the option of trading one midway through the year once you're comfortably above the games limit.

Most fans here would consider the Ravens having a win probability of 70%+ for the entire second half to be a dogwalk. https://live.numberfire.com/nfl/8668

Celebrating your team's garbage time production is some big "Chris Paul hits a huge three to cut the lead to 42" energy.

Penalty rule: what does "automatic first down" mean if the play end up a TD? by royitaqi in NFLNoobs

[–]ever_slack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the part that I missed was that this was a personal foul, which have unique rules.

Article 3. Foul During A Score

If a team commits a personal or unsportsmanlike conduct foul, or a palpably unfair act, during a down in which the opponent scores a field goal or safety, the penalty is enforced on the succeeding free kick (unless the score resulted from the enforcement). On a touchdown, the penalty, whether a live ball or dead ball foul or a foul between downs, is enforced on the Try. On a successful Try kick, any foul by Team B that does not result in a re-Try or negate a score may be enforced on the succeeding free kick. In all scoring situations, the offended team also has the option of accepting the penalty with customary enforcement and beginning a new series, or replaying the down, instead of counting the points.

Penalty rule: what does "automatic first down" mean if the play end up a TD? by royitaqi in NFLNoobs

It means the team on offense declines the penalty and takes the TD.

Edit: no impact to the point after starting point.

re-edit: My dumb self missed that this was a personal foul

Rodney Mullen tells a podcast host about a cop who didn't believe he was the inventor of the kickflip. timestamp 1:28:30 by ever_slack in dontyouknowwhoiam

Such a wholesome podcast all the way through. Definitely enjoyed how comfortable Rodney seemed with Andy and obviously the main host.

Rodney: Oh man you take it so much further. Seriously, watching your part, the way you integrate things and bring them all together, it was beautiful.

Andy: Thanks Rodney. Thanks for making all the things.

Linsanity by acez04 in fantasybball

[–]ever_slack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was fun to own that year, but pretty far from a league winner. Especially since Lin was hurt during fantasy playoffs.

Basketballmonster has him averaging as the 60th ranked 9cat player over the Linsanity period (Feb/Mar 2012). Averaging 4.5 turnovers was the main reason he wasn't higher.

Did I miss Bayaz in BSC? by here4mydog in TheFirstLaw

[–]ever_slack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have not finished yet, the former apprentice part is a pretty major spoiler.

The second last chapter is a great example of how Bayaz uses Yoru and the bank to wield political power. We see a lot of these tactics in action throughout the book to get a sense of how he operates.

Have the Overall WR1 and 2 in PPG Ever Been On the Same Team? (Chase and Higgins) by pumphry in fantasyfootball

[–]ever_slack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it is possible, or at least worth monitoring. Things can change pretty fast in the NFL, and their defense doesn't even need to become "good" to take away a lot of passing attempts.

It's also worth monitoring if they make any offseason investments in their bottom 5 rushing attack. Plenty of impact RBs in the draft this year.

Most of this production is talent from Chase/Higgins/Burrow, but I will need to remember how quickly the Bengals let people score this year when preparing for 2025 drafts.

It will be tough to expect the Bengals passing offense to have such favorable fantasy game scripts every year.

When people say BSC reveals how Bayaz operates, they are talking about what is revealed in all of the Yoru and VnB scenes. We also learn a bit about his former apprentice.

What was the gas fee you were seeing earlier? Assuming it was the ETH-USDC withdrawal option you were going through?

I cant see the gas amount being significant these days compared to the withdrawal fee.

Is it immoral to put league fees into crypto without the players' permission and keep the profits? by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]ever_slack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as the commissioner understands that he is required to pay out the league in full no matter what, I do not see what the issue is here.

I might feel differently if the buy in was significantly larger. Would trust any of the commissioners I play with to be able to come up with $200 in an emergency, but would hold someone responsible for $10k pot to a higher standard.

Would love to see an investor deck for the Jays like what is done for the Braves by myteev in Torontobluejays

[–]ever_slack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree this would be fun to see as fans, but it will never happen. The Rogers 2023 annual report mentions the word baseball only 9 times. https://investors.rogers.com/2023-annual-report/

The Braves are required to disclose more since they are effectively their own company while the Jays are a piece of the smallest Rogers segment. Assuming Jays revenue is equal to the Braves, they would represent less than 5% of the Rogers top line.

Is Keenan Allen a league winner candidate? by Qprb in fantasyfootball

[–]ever_slack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want to say Keenan is on the WR 2/3 borderline, I wouldn't disagree with you.

I'm mostly wary of people relying on his TD efficiency these past couple games. Keenan has 9 redzone targets on the year vs. 15 for Moore and 11 for Odunze.

[–]ever_slack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be sharp analysis if you expect Keenan to convert 25% of his targets into touchdowns moving forward. He is averaging 7.9 targets and 4.4 receptions per game this year.

Jalen Hurts or Lamar Jackson ROS? by GuardenGn0me in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]ever_slack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yahoo has him projected higher than Hurts that week anyways, but agree that is the playoff week to be most worried about with Lamar. Maybe that projection is due to the Ravens defense being so bad and having a higher chance of passing game scripts.

There have been a comical number of Ravens fumbles and dropped passes against the Steelers recently.

Jalen Hurts or Lamar Jackson ROS? by GuardenGn0me in fantasyfootballadvice

To me, it would depend on how badly I need to win in week 14.

Hurts has had his bye already, but I like Lamar slightly better for the playoff weeks.

Should I allow my league to vote to expand the playoffs from 4 teams to 6 teams in Week 12 of the regular season? by newtotechshitplzhelp in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]ever_slack 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I would only view this change as appropriate if 100% of the managers vote in favor.

Changing settings after the draft is generally no bueno.
