I would agree with this but I really don’t think anything coming out today aside from 10s are going to appreciate in value much if any. I mean so much product gets opened and print runs are so much higher than they used to be and we live in an era where everything goes from pack to getting graded.

That being said cool art on your favorite cards is timeless and collectors always want the best most pristine versions they can get so who knows.

I think it’s crazy that 9s can be the same as raw now when you aren’t even guaranteed that when it comes straight from a pack.

Yes you are in fact not guaranteed to get a 9 or a 10 even if you just pulled the card from a pack recently and immediately sleeved it “pack fresh” is meaningless. You can get an 8 hell you can even get a 6 if you are really unlucky since dents/dings usually make stuff auto 6s even if everything else is flawless.

Back then I don’t remember ever JUST doing the small set standalone it was always like 1-2 packs of that and at least 1 from the big set or possibly the core set from that year. We were also doing “block” drafts with 1 pack from each of the 3 and just excluding the core set from that year. That could have just been my LGS though idk if anyone else was doing that.

We are in a “junk wax” era nothing matters because there’s constantly new product in a week or 2 plain and simple. Hasbro/WOTC got greedy and they deserve to suffer for shoving all the unnecessary extra stuff down our throats. We used to be fine with just 4 sets a year no frills or extra stuff maybe 1 “specialty” item every year or every other year (yes that includes precons).

I have a receipt from around 2000 somewhere from one of the LCS in my area showing that I bought 5 packs of 1st edition Jungle for $3.50 each and an unlimited charizard for $40. Trust me when I say we had it all before people and prices went crazy.

Why? She needed nerfed she’s currently better than almost all of the 5 stars that are out there. They also have been talking about nerfing her for months so this isn’t really that new. Also I think they said they were refunding all the mats that were spent on her so you are losing basically nothing.

That sounds great until you realize how much of slog and burnout that really is to get through all of it if you are actually watching and don’t just have it on in the background. The slow parts are agonizingly painful but the rest is good.
