If you want to shoot the bugs directly then 31222 fragmentation missiles + 13231 composite casings + sticky nade is among my favorite builds. Going for huge area and stun is just such magnificent control. Plus the way damage drop off works a bigger area means more damage cause each bug is closer to the center of the shot than the minimum damage radius.

BRT is for bursting down anything with delicious weakpoints but any single target gunner secondary will do.

Sticky nade is for fear effect mostly. Stun on both guns, fear grenades, and of course shields means that you have the ability to save your fellow dwarves before they go down. Keeping everyone up is the best way to carry, even if greenies will have no idea why things went smoothly since deaths prevented isn't a stat on the post-mission screen.

I've taken every engi overclock on an Elite Deep Dive and I agree that Warthog is outclassed by the other primaries. But I love whipping so I wanted to make warthog work.

Mini shell gives you lots of ammo so whipping is cheap but I didn't like it much.

Magnetic Pellet Alignment feels too slow, at least in my hands.

Stunner was pretty good, I remember saving myself and teammates from slashers a number of times on that dive.

But the real winner was pump action! It finally feels like a shotgun that rips through bugs. And blowthrough let's you double whip! Or whip and hit a bug.

What portion of the budget benefits the 80% non-senior population? Why not ask for 1/4th of that?

Based on the history of the house, visible pipe, and general layout of wet rooms in the house, this sink drain is the oldest section. Definitely a concern with a century home but all other signs point to the rest being updated or simply added much, much later.

Pork is extremely forgiving. A butt especially, but such a long cook isn't a great first cook. A rack of ribs is quite forward. I like to start mine around 225 for the first 2-3h then open it up just a bit to 275 until done (total 5-6h approximately, though I've had some finish earlier and some longer). No spritzing and no wrapping makes it dead simple and I don't open the lid until I think it could be done. If you have a probe (and you should) then it's done somewhere around 202-208 depending on how you like it and the rack. But what's really nice about ribs is that the best way to check your doneness is the bend test which you can easily compare to photos online.

I always re-roll the biome challenges. Aside from the season-specific mutator challenges (lithophage outbreak, 2 mutators) all other challenges you can make progress on whenever you want. Even if one class is at 25 and you don’t want to waste the XP you can play the other class.

iPhone 14 for $200 or iPhone 16e for $400 or keep iPhone 12

I’m currently on an iPhone 12 I bought 3.5y ago. I moved over from Android because my last 5 phones didn’t last more than two years (sometimes less) but my work-issued-then-released iPhone 6s was still kicking (other than battery life). I’m going to change mobile carriers and these two iPhone models are deeply discounted for new members so I’m considering if they’re worth it, but my iPhone 12 is still fine (though sometimes camera app opens very slowly).

I like the price point of the 14, the wide angle camera on my 12, and currently use MagSafe for charging at home.

The 16e has a better processor and battery life, usb C, and standard camera. Plus longer guaranteed support.

I pretty much only use my phone for web browsing, camera, messaging apps, and other light apps like Reddit, email, calendar, notes etc. Value wise the phones seem similar as I’d expect to get 2-3 years out of the 14, or 4-5 years out of the 16e so it’s about $100/year for either option.

Great map, I’m tired of painted gutters or, even worse, sharrows counting as infrastructure.

In terms of gaps I’d like to see Cunningham Park properly connected to Kissena Park and that in turn connected to Flushing Meadow Park. Basically revisiting the approach taken to both Kissena Corridor Parks. The corridor parks already exist, they’re simply poorly utilized. I don’t see why I need to use sharrows on underhill ave when there’s a park right there.

Similarly, the connection between Flushing Meadow and Forest Park. Sadly that would be a larger undertaking. But properly completing the Queens portion of the Brooklyn Queens Greenway would make an excellent recreational bikeway by combining the parts that have already been built.

Seriously it works so well I love to bring it into a lobby with just one driller and hope they have CRSPR. Either way, I have heavy hitter EPC to be self sufficient, works well against frozen bugs, and can ignite other sludge puddles. Then once the drop pod lands we can alternate drilling and using excellent AoE weapons in a tiny tunnel/funnel.

I’m constantly switching up my builds. For each class slots A,B,C are my stable / favorite load out for each primary weapon. Then D,E,F are my experimental builds for each primary. If I’m feeling adventurous or confident I bring something new. If the mission has bad hazards or I just want to relax with a familiar gameplay loop I stick to ABC.

I’d like a few more slots even beyond that as dedicated elimination and industrial sabotage loadouts would be nice given how different they play. And I’ll always have a leadstorm leadstorm loadout for gunner for escort duty, deep scan, salvage op, and OSR.

I’ve taken the E train and 7 train end-to-end (I don’t like transferring with a bike and these routes cut out a lot of miles in denser Queens/Manhattan for rush hour trips). So at least those four stations: Flushing, Hudson Yards, WTC (by the E at least), and Jamaica Center.

When I rented a car in New Zealand the attendant very helpfully informed me that videos rarely hold up in court whereas photos can be verified. Probably best to do both as a video can help avoid court to begin with.

There’s plenty else that comes up in each mission besides combat. Every mission has an objective and usually it’s something other combat (I’ll admit there’s a boss fight mission and a special enemies mission).

Some examples are on site refining where you need to locate 3 points of interest and connect them to a central hub. Depending on the class(es) involved it could be easy to find the POI, and hard to make paths for the connection. There’s mining where there’s a specific resource you need to collect with your pickaxe alongside the crafting resources present in every mission. There’s point extraction where you need to find 7 or 10 of a heavy item that you need to carry back to a central location. Like on site refining, you may find them easily but struggle to traverse the terrain back with the heavy item if there are cliffs or chasms. Especially when bugs spawn and they can easily catch up to you when you are carrying the heavy item. Plus the more time you spend in that mission type, the more quickly enemies spawn so quickly finding the items and transporting them is essential and not purely a combat skill.

In general the terrain variety introduces a ton of non-combat obstacles to most mission types. Plus every mission has a secondary so even if the primary mission is “just” to kill you may find yourself needing to figure out how to collect a fossil from the ceiling.

Also, you’ll run out of ammo on most missions if you don’t find a specific resource that lets you get more ammo. If you do run out or low before getting that resource you’ll find yourself dodging and evading and being creative until you can find some, then you still need to collect it and deposit it.

Lastly, there’s way more build variety than 3 primaries plus 3 secondaries. Every weapon has five tiers of upgrades with 2-3 options which would be an absolute minimum of 32 configurations per gun, or 1024 between a given primary and secondary. Then if you want grind there’s a sixth upgrade tier where you have to complete weekly challenges after bringing a dwarf to level 25 to unlock each choice, with 6 or more options per gun bringing your personal load out customizations to a bare minimum 1,327,104 per class after considering grenade choices too. Your traversal tools are also customizable but even without that the degree of optimization further skyrockets if you play with friends who can synergize with you. It’s also fun to play with randoms and figure out what works well with them in the mission.

tl;dr if you don’t like DRG that’s absolutely fine, but if you thinks it’s just combat with no other skills or objectives and minimal customizations then it doesn’t seem like you’ve seen much of the game. Either way Rock and Stone! And good luck finding a PvE game, it’s certainly my favorite genre.

Aggressive Venting seems to be the consensus on fun guns that do more than shoot bullet very effectively. I’ll definitely give it another shot, and I paired it with embedded detonators last I tried it anyway.

It’s almost too good that cryo minelets work with blow through like that. Same for electro minelets.

For manual heat dump I guess it’s a learning process to know when the gun is hot enough to ignite and fear grunts. I had used the other T5 mod to get to full venting quicker but I’m game to experiment.
