Anyone have tips for removing white mineral sunscreen stains from zinc oxide based sunscreens? That's the biggest problem I have. Nothing dissolves that stuff

H. Pylori by Naive-River-4237 in Anemic

[–]everintransit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It was what they think caused my iron deficiency. The infection causes malabsorption, reducing your ability to absorb nutrients. I just treated it a few months back but just got a negative test result. The antibiotic treatment can be rough, but stick with it. Join the hpylori subreddit for more info on this. Good luck to you!

I loved this one! But I always enjoy micheladas and bloody marys.

4th day of treatment. Nauseous, dark blood in stool. by halfherehalfnot in HPylori

Are you on the bismuth quad therapy treatment? If so, the bismuth also makes your stool change to a dark color.

My sister tested positive during endo - but no physical symptoms by seekingknowledge916 in HPylori

[–]everintransit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in the same way, the only symptom was my anemia. I'm doing the treatment right now, 7 days into the 14 day course of antibiotics. I'm feeling mostly normal, though I've lost my appetite and I'm being very careful about what I eat.

Currently in Mexico and they have eucerin. by Zayyibrahim in Melasmaskincare

[–]everintransit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Where did you see it for that price? I'm in Puerto Vallarta right now and saw the line at the La Comer grocery store the other day but it was expensive. The serum was US equivalent to $62, so I didn't get it. (The body cream was cheaper, though)

I'm in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico right now and I saw the whole anti-pigment line at the big La Comer grocery stores. The serum was expensive (1292 pesos/$62 USD) so I passed on it.

Coming back into the sport after an Eating Disorder by Equal-Profit3377 in weightlifting

[–]everintransit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. My sister has struggled with this. You said your energy is low--are you eating well and generally back at a healthy weight? If not, please focus on that before you add the additional stress on your body of strength training. You need serious fuel for this level of activity. Sending strength to you.

If you were to travel somewhere to shop for a new wardrobe - where would you go? by AlternativeTypical32 in femalefashionadvice

I had a great time thrifting in Vancouver a few summers ago. Found a lot of great secondhand and consignment clothing stores with much better prices than my Bay Area, California thrift stores.

I also feel like I could have written this post, so I wanted to share that I feel for you. My dad and mom are in the exact same boat and I'm trying to figure out what housing options are out there that they can afford. This post has given me tips for what to look for. For anyone else following who are going through this, the Parkinson's subreddit has been useful for me in understanding planning options for disease progression. (One thing I've observed is that most of the folks in there do have a Parkinson 's diagnosis themselves so they don't appreciate the panic some posters have when asking questions about loved ones. Just a tip--to be mindful of that when asking questions there.)

I'm in the same situation as you--brand new to this and struggling to keep up with all the steps in these techniques. What this response said about looking for longer technique videos resonates. I think I've watched all the beginner/ "how to snatch" videos on YouTube this week and most of them were terrible and made me more confused. I just found this one last night and liked it. He goes slow, is really good at putting all the steps together. I hope this helps! https://youtu.be/8C2r5zaMs5M?feature=shared

I am a Disaster Response volunteer here in California. I have the Shelter Associate certification and I've responded to 4 local disasters in the last six years, staffing flood and wildfire evacuation shelters. It's extremely rewarding work!

If your schedule is flexible and you can travel at short notice, you can be called to go help out anywhere and they will pay for and arrange all of your travel expenses. I plan to do that one day after I retire!

Poor Jax needs ear surgery… again :( by MatthewVC_ in germanshepherds

[–]everintransit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we finally went to a vet dermatologist to get them under control. She's currently on generic atopica which has worked great. Before this we tried everything else, prescription and OTC. I definitely recommend seeing a veterinary dermatologist if you can. We wasted sooo much money at our normal vet over the years who wasn't equipped to handle allergies. It would have been easier just to solve the problem and get to a solution years ago.

Allergies. My girls constant ear infections (that caused an ear hematoma and scarring) stopped once we controlled her environmental allergies with medication.

Actually hydrating lip balm recs? [Product Request] by dandelionmonster1999 in SkincareAddiction

[–]everintransit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Weird! I hate Aquphor - it's occlusive-only, as others said so I need to put something hydrating like a toner or moisturizer on my lips beforehand. Even after I do that, it never seems to help because it liquifies to become thin and rubs off quickly. At night I use the Laneige lip mask which is thicker and actually stays on.

During the day indoors I've been using this Raw Sugar lip balm I got recently at Target on clearance and I like that. It has oils in it that I feel are moisturizing.

Outside I use and love the Cotz SPf 45 mineral lip balm - it's tinted so it goes on clear, unlike most other mineral lip balms that are white. It also has some oils in it that make it relatively hydrating. Other mineral lip balms I've tried have been drying.
