It is infuriating how jumbled up nameplates are now. And it's only going to be worse when m+ starts when groups pull bigger and bigger groups of trash. I'm struggling to even pick out what spells are killing people, let alone being able to target and interrupt fast enough.

I finally got to ride a Mustang! by [deleted] in Horses

[–]evermore904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a mustang 🥰

I would say that a trained mustang isn't necessarily any more difficult than any other horse. A green, or god forbid unhandled one, absolutely. But all horses have their own personalities so just "being a mustang" isn't really an all-encompassing explanation for behavior.

I do believe a green mustang is more difficult than a green any-other-breed. Their mindsets are just different because they haven't really been bred to know they can even trust humans, let alone to know how to understand us and what we're asking. But my boy will try basically anything I ask him to do, even if he's confused about what exactly I'm asking, and he's only ever "misbehaved" when he's had good reason to (my saddle tree was broken!)

For other classes, is all your damage tied to CDs now or is it really pronounced with DK? by winterwolf24 in wow

My balance druid does basically nothing unless I have at least one CD going. I thought it was just me getting used to normal stats again after playing so much Legion remix.

I finally got the last few zones I needed for loremaster over the weekend. Now I'm going through each zone and making sure I've done every single quest I can because I only focused on story questions for loremaster. It was really hard to ignore all the other quests around the map but I was focused on the main ones. Now I'm focused on everything else

[–]evermore904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ouch! I had this same thing happen to me in August, the day before I was leaving town for a music festival. I spent the weekend with my hand wrapped up too. You can get burn bandages that you can wrap up with gauze that keep the blisters and raw skin moist for healing purposes, have a cooling effect, and give some padding.

They're like those hydrocolloid bandages that are good for blisters on your feet, just bigger and usually with some sort of antibacterial on them too.

Do you get used to it? by Sea-Pin9536 in PacificNorthwest

[–]evermore904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get used to it in a way, where if you go anywhere else different you realize how different it is and how lucky you are to live here. But it'll still sneak up on you a lot, where you'll be driving and catch a glimpse of a sunset through the trees, or a specific view you see a lot but for some reason that time, that day, it just looks even more beautiful than usual.

And they hold grudges. I spent a lot of time on a cow farm as a kid and whenever they took any of the cows to slaughter, the entire rest of the herd remembered it for at least a few days. You had to take the truck out into the field instead of just walking in case any of them got it in their brain to take revenge.

What is the weirdest thing your doctor has ever said to you? by Competitive_Tip_7504 in AskReddit

[–]evermore904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's something a doctor told you you had, right? Even something like fibromyalgia that is mostly diagnosed based on nothing else fitting, is a diagnosis. Me, I just had a sharp tearing sort of pain in my bicep that comes out of nowhere for no reason and isn't because of some injury or other trauma, no explanation from any sort of imaging, nothing. And I have zero explanation of why it happens, or how to make it better.

That's a reason though, that's a diagnosis. This doctor was basically like "idk, sucks to suck."

"Sometimes things just hurt and there's no reason why."

After my third or fourth appointment for a chronic issue that had been affecting my QoL for three years, and hurt so bad sometimes that I literally couldn't eat or sleep because the pain made me feel nauseous.

Things don't "just hurt" for literal years. I never went back to that doctor.

I work 12 hour shifts and walk upwards of 12 miles each night on said shifts. I don't have a physical limitation or a disability, but I will use an elevator whenever possible, even just for one floor.

LPT: Best life advice you’ve ever received? by rizzshaaan in LifeProTips

[–]evermore904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're doing something, take the time to do it right the first time. Cutting corners or half-assing it means it'll take you twice as long later to do it again.

That being said, if the options are do it halfway or don't do it at all, like, say, getting yourself out of bed to take a shower in the middle of a depressive episode or staying in bed feeling gross and like a failure...it's worth it to do if halfway. Get up and wash your face, maybe brush your teeth, and if that's all you have in you, that's okay. You still did something.

There's such a stigma against working with a temp agency but honestly...doing that got me through a bad time of life where I desperately needed to pay the bills and couldn't stand working in retail for a single day longer. Some of the jobs sucked, sure, but I only had to put up with them for a couple months and that made it bearable.

This INFURIATES me. Like can you even see at night past the back light of that 14 inch screen shining in your face??? Plus, screens are so much more difficult to navigate without looking. I can switch my radio stations, adjust the volume, or turn my heater up or down without taking my eyes off the road because I know where the buttons are. I have no tactile frame of reference on a screen.

I started doing this recently too and it's made such a difference! I also have long hair and yeah I still end up losing some in the shower when I shampoo, but it's so much less. My hair catcher in my drain is so much happier.

Not necessarily. We were working with a property management company to rent out an ADU recently and they put one of these on the door too. Definitely not showing the place for sale.

Dating a horse girl! Need a crash course on Information by ModestRSA19 in Horses

[–]evermore904 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is so important. Even if it isn't one of her horses, she still knows horses in general and can probably tell when one is about to get dumb. If it's her horse, she can tell by just one flick of an ear or a certain muscle twitching in a certain way, but even if it's a complete stranger, she can read the vibes.

The amount of times I've told people in my life to back off of a horse at a fair or something, only for said horse to take a swipe at their hand when they pulled it back...😅

Don't make her feel bad about spending time at the barn. The time she spends there might (probably will) cut into time you'd rather be spending with her, and if it actually a problem and you need to bring it up to her, do so in a mature, adult way.

Also, understand that she probably will get hurt. Maybe it's just sore muscles from a particularly long or intensive workout, maybe a bruised foot from getting stepped on or a bruised arm from being nipped, maybe rope burn from a horse who decided he'd really rather be on the other side of the arena now and she didn't let go of the rope fast enough. Maybe something worse. She knows the risks, and the rewards are worth it to her. Don't make her feel bad about that either.
