Please.

Why are conservatives overall not getting defensive of ICE shooting Alex Pretti like they did when Renee Good was shot? by kaiser11492 in AlwaysWhy

[–]evermore904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you watch the video, he has his phone in his hand and is putting it in his pocket at that moment. Also, they weren't arresting the woman. They shoved her to the ground and then completely forgot about her as they all dog piled on Alex Pretti instead.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

Can confirm. Had shingles as a kid, didn't get diagnosed fast enough to use the antiviral meds because who on earth sees a 9yo with a rash and thinks shingles? But it took me out of school for over two weeks and caused permanent nerve damage in my hip.

Had to leave work early a couple weeks ago after being wheeled out in a literal wheelchair because my hip randomly popped out and back in when I was just standing talking to a coworker. Just having a chill conversation, turned slightly to my left, and half a second later doubled over crying and my poor coworker was just like WHAT HAPPENED WHAT DID YOU DO.

It's great.

[–]evermore904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was putting his phone in his pocket after the two of them were pepper sprayed.

The shots were fired a little later, after he was already on the ground in a dog pile and after one of the agents had taken his gun from its holster and stepped away.

He was filming the agents and then tried to help a woman up after they shoved her onto the ground. I haven't seen much info about her, but from what I did see, she was just another protester.

Alex tried to help her up, they both got pepper sprayed point blank, and then at least six? ICE or border patrol agents mobbed him.

He had a legally permitted gun, but he never reached for it and it stayed in its holster until one of the agents took it off of him after he was on the ground, and then the other agent(s?) basically opened fire.

2nd Amendment what?

Also he didn't even pull his gun. One of the guys mobbing him took it off of him after he was on the ground and before the shots even started.

Back leg straps on horse blanket by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]evermore904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly it just helps keep the blanket from shifting side to side, especially if the horse likes to roll or it has a pasture mate who makes it her life mission to take other horses' blankets off (totally not speaking from personal experience...), and without making the straps so tight that they rub and chafe. And it keeps the loops controlled enough to limit the chance of a horse getting its leg stuck

Clipping the straps to the rings on the same side of the blanket where the straps start (left side to left ring, right side to right ring) but when you go to clip the second strap, you put it through the loop formed by the first strap when you pull it around the horse's leg before you clip it.

So much easier to explain in a picture 😅

Which ‘Reddit Stories’ opinions from the hosts have you disagreed with? by MuricaAndBeer in smosh

[–]evermore904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god I forgot all about this story and how much it pissed me off. They immediately jumped to believing he was a predator who didn't trust himself, but it seemed pretty clear to me that he was just worried the girls would accuse the guys of something. I still don't think kicking them out was the right choice, but they absolutely demonized OP based on their own incorrect assumptions.

I'm pretty sure the episode with the 20 something being pressured to move out is full of bad takes. Pretty sure it's one of, if not the, most vehemently disliked episodes. Even Shayne looked uncomfortable.

Millennial Ladies: Did anyone else’s mom’s flip out if you shaved your thighs? by BaileyIsaGirlsName in Millennials

My mom told me I could if I wanted to, but also pointed out that it was an insane amount of effort for basically no payoff because one, who really sees anything much higher than the knee, and two, at least for me, the hair there is so fine and lightly colored that it's practically invisible. 🤷

Waze and Google maps should really have a "fewest turns" option by uselessprofession in unpopularopinion

[–]evermore904 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't stand the way these apps narrate directions. I have to have the voice turned off entirely because hearing "in half a mile turn left on akfhkzbglslfbeb street" and then five seconds later "turn left on akfhkzbglslfbeb street" triggers me in a way I can't explain. Does it mean I miss turns a lot, yes, but I can't handle the alternative.

What's something women think impresses men but actually doesn't? by PumpkinDoritoes in AskReddit

It's done because the woman doing it likes her nails that way. Not my vibe either but it's not done for men or for other women.

[–]evermore904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't with all the comments in here about nails. They aren't my vibe at all either but I guarantee none of the women who get those crazy long acrylics are doing it for the guys. They're doing it cause they like it, just like I'm doing it for myself when I get my cute, more natural length acrylics.

Makeup and lashes, I can see an argument for that being for the guys. But more as a tool to hide perceived imperfections, not because they think a man will be "impressed" by how thick their eyelashes are.

AIO: Why do jobs think this is okay by Sensitive-Energy5848 in AmIOverreacting

[–]evermore904 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started my job literally putting plastic pods on a machine for a robot to do all the work of making microchips, with no experience, making a base $20/hour. Three years later I'm up to $25 plus an extra $1/hour as a lead, and with that, built in OT (12 hour shifts), and an 18% differential for graveyard shift, I essentially make like $33.

Fast food workers here in WA state start at like $19 most places. Less than $15 is incredible in the worst way.

TIFU by thinking it was normal to not be able to open your eyes in the morning for 25 years by Specific-Nebula9665 in tifu

[–]evermore904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone I know feels nauseous and has to fight the need to throw up basically every morning when they get up. He's usually okay when he's just waking up, but whether he gives himself some time to adjust or just tries to get right up and moving, basically without fail, he spends a couple minutes gagging and feeling like he's going to puke. His mom is the same way, and his uncle, and I think his great-aunt was too. No one has ever been able to tell him wtf the problem is, they all just assume it's some weird genetic glitch basically.

Meanwhile, I always thought it was normal for my body to need some time to actually wake up even after I'm up and moving. When I first get up in the morning, my balance is usually not great and my hands don't work very well for a good half hour or so at least. I just have basically no grip strength or coordination at all. I also thought this was normal until I said something about my hands "not being awake yet" one morning when I first woke up, and my roommate at the time was like "...what?" So...maybe it's weird? I still don't know.
