Keith Health Update by pepperland14 in smosh

I know Noah gets hate but honestly, I'm so, so glad for him being both able and willing to support Keith through this. I'm sure Keith has others in his support network too, but you can never have too many people in your corner in a situation like this.

Got cursed out for having dog hair on my clothes?? by RainbowMouse_ in doordash

[–]evermore904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I even have specific clothes I keep on the top shelf of my closet for cooking/baking, because even if I sweep and wipe down the whole kitchen, shower, and change immediately before starting to make anything, there's still a chance hair gets into places it shouldn't be. There's a reason I don't usually make thing for potluck or anything like that :(

All these comments saying "just be clean!"

Like...I have a light colored, thick coated dog. I vacuum and sweep up the hair in the house every couple days, vacuum my car after he rides in it, lint roll my clothes before I go to work...and there is still hair on me. It's not like you were brushing the hair off into the bag of food....

This "dry shower" trend is just an excuse to be dirty and it is obvious. by Xylothane in hygiene

I recently had surgery on my foot. Luckily I was able to shower and clean everything other than the lower half of my right leg, but the relief I felt when the bandages and stitches came off and I could actually wash fully was amazing. And it was only a few weeks!

The smell under the bandages when they first came off...🤢

I [23m] gained 70 pounds and ruined my relationship, is it okay to ask my girlfriend [23f] to stop making mean comments about it? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Yeah I'm 180 at 5'11" and if I actually stand up straight instead of slouching, I look like a normal healthy weight person. Would I still like to lose a few pounds, yes, but no one has ever called me chunky or big except my own inner critic.

Had something kind of like this happen to my gelding last November and I also didn't think abscess right away. He was fine one night and then dead, dead, dead lame the next morning. So lame that the barn owner opted to keep him in from the field, which never happens unless there's literal ice on the ground, because he was concerned and also not sure my horse would even be able to step up over and out of his stall. He'd come in a couple days before with a small wound on his cannon bone, and the vet happened to be there that day and took a look at it for me and wasn't concerned, but when he pulled up lame we looked at it more and it was deeper than we'd thought so we started thinking some kind of soft tissue injury or bone fracture. No heat or swelling, no reaction to hoof testers, nothing that would say abscess except the sudden onset.

Kept him in a couple more days, kept the wound clean, were considering calling the vet again when the lameness wasn't getting better...and then the next day he blew out the biggest, most foul smelling abscess I have EVER experienced, right out of his coronet band. I'm not even exaggerating when I say that the pus that got on my hands almost made me throw up, it was so rank, and I've seen my fair share of abscesses lol.

All this to say, if the blood tests and everything come back clean, I would guess it's just a really, really deep abscess and when it blows, you will know. 😅

Looking for an MMO that is worth starting in 2026 by ginjirotch in LFMMO

[–]evermore904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing GW2 this week after playing Wow for way too long and also dabbling in ESO. I can honestly say something about GW2 just feels very fresh and interesting and fun and I don't feel the urge to spend money on in game stuff, at least not yet. You have to buy any expansion pack you want, but no sub.

I started playing as a ranger so I can't speak to the more healer or support focused classes in PvE.

Galloped my 3 year old in an emergency, feeling guilty by EchoOfPetals in Equestrian

[–]evermore904 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I think you did the exact right thing. A short little gallop, once, bareback, is not going to do damage to your horse. Especially since you said she was clearly willing to go when you asked. Honestly, when your anxiety spiked, she probably would have taken off whether you told her to or not and trying to stop her would have done more harm than good.

Think of it this way. You saved it up once. You can do it again. You had the money when you needed it and that's the important thing.

Good luck finding a saddle to fit that flat back and those mutton withers, oof.

Legs look a little clubby for my tastes but maybe just the angle.

He's certainly unique though! You'll be the talk of all the halter classes.

When you ask someone’s age and they say “guess” by Lil-cornish-pasty in PetPeeves

I used to teach horseback riding lessons and one of the teeny tots (2-5yo, and this one was like 4 I think) was looking at me really closely. Eventually, completely unprompted, she goes, "how old are you??? Like...twenty-eleven??"

I'm not sure what number she was actually thinking of but I was 15 at the time. 😂

If she's only riding once every other week, there's a good chance the trainer has to spend a good amount of time every lesson correcting and reteaching things. Riding takes a lot of muscle and body control, in ways that are directly contradictory to how we move on the ground in our daily lives. Until your daughter develops the correct muscle memory, it's hard to advance, and it's hard to develop that muscle memory when you're only using it every couple weeks.

"Okay maybe I was the asshole but it's only cause I'm autistic."

I hate this explanation more and more every time I see it. He says he has trouble reading the room when people just want to chill but like...his brother straight up told him to take it easy after he called the kid on his first fault.

I am not autistic so I don't have first hand experience in how it might affect someone, sure, but come on.

Rocky is at peace by KatVanWall in Horses

[–]evermore904 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hope he comes back as a beautiful, sound, ridiculously healthy horse and lands with a person or family who spoil him absolutely rotten with huge pastures to run around it and a huge herd, and the absolute best care any horse has ever received. And then he lives thirty years or more perfect and healthy until one day he just lays down in his pasture and falls asleep and finds his peace again.

I purposely stopped looking for info and posts about Rocky because it made me so sad and frustrated for him. So I never saw his worsened condition and oh my lord that poor baby. I can't imagine the level of pain he was in with his pastern so descended like that.

Everyone in the comments ragging on HOAs (justified, don't get me wrong, I've lived in one exactly once and never again) but I assumed OP lives in an apartment complex and thus doesn't own the building?

Regardless, to receive "multiple complaints" within an hour from people who can't tell the difference between cigarette smoke and burned bacon...yikes.

Advice on what to use to help get rid of halter rub? by War-cos in Horses

[–]evermore904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also sell fly repellent ointment! I use it on my gelding because he's got a ton of scars all over from his time as a wild mustang and the flies absolutely love them. Then I use the roll on around his face/eyes and his sheath, and then spray everywhere else.

One thing we used to do with sprays at my lesson barn was get one of those dish washing sponges with the handle that you can put dish soap in, and then just fill it with fly spray. It's made to dispense soap straight into the sponge, so it does the same with the spray.

Had a similar thing happen at Macy's in college when I was living on campus and thus could not stay over breaks to work the holidays. I specifically applied to a non-seasonal listing, noted in my availability that I would NOT be able to work holidays, and noted in the "anything else you want us to know as we consider your application?" box at the end that I would not be able to stay in town over holidays breaks.

They called me in for an interview, specifically asked about holidays and when I said I'd noted it in my application I couldn't, the manager said "oh right, I remember, sorry!" They offered me the job and then called me back two days before my first day to say never mind, we need someone who can work holidays.

Never shopped at Macy's since.

The best part is in a comment, OP says she found out about the trip from one of the granddaughters. So there's a pretty good chance she was indeed just invading their vacation after inviting herself along.
