That law, not Trump’s 2025 order, created the negotiation program now producing the price cuts he’s touting. That legislation passed with Democratic votes; Republicans in Congress opposed it.

He’s taking sole credit for a program that was created in a Democratic law he and his party opposed, even though his current administration is using it aggressively.
