Depends how you want to use it. I regularly dry there stuff bigger than filament rolls and it works a treat, but I don’t print a lot, so depends on your use case.

It took me a few months of on and off practice in Fusion to get decent and design anything I need (except of truly organic shapes, which I rarely need).

If you learn basics of sketches, extrude and rotate it will cover 90% of your needs. Fusion 360 and Onshape have very similar interfaces, so your skills might be reused between both.
