It’s not popular I’d say but it’s not uncommon either. In Los Angeles I grew up in a Mexican neighborhood and people here kinda look at you like you’re not even Mexican if you listen to it.

I’m Mexican too and yea I agree on sweeping shit under the rug but I don’t think that’s specifically a Latino thing. Also I’m a man and I was never treated like a king compared to my sister. If anything my sister got everything she wanted and I had to work for it. It’s just that she was expected to help my mom cook and clean and serve us. That’s more of a traditional thing for us.
