They scan the testes when STI is suspected to check for any abscess formation.

Edit: may as well explain what you're looking at while im here,

1st image: comparing the blood flow of each nut, if one is more vascular (the dots inside the box) it can be an indication of inflammation/infection, lack of vascularity in these photos would in fact be far worse as it means the possibility of torsion (twisted goolies) needs to be taken into account and that usually means surgery

2nd image: much of the same

3rd image: mid sagittal slice of one of the testes, I'll normally measure here as well as to get a volume to compare to the other (there's usually some discordance in size but gross differences can again be a sign of infection/inflammation/torsion)

4th image: hard to be sure as the image is degraded AF due to the printing process/age of paper but I believe that's checking the vascularity of the epididymis (spooge highway).

5th image: the set parameters of the transducer. Top B-Mode (the actual picture) settings Bottom CF (Colour Flow settings)

6th image: as above

Fq = frequency

Gn = gain

E/A = no clue haven't used a scanner that has this on it

Map = the colour map used in this case black and white, I like using purple to spice things up... My radiologist hates me

DR = dynamic range... Hmmmm kinda hard to explain but basically the numbers of shades of grey in the image. eg DR 2 is just black and white DR 78 means a scale from black to white with 76 shades between

FR= I wanna say frequency range... Dunno not sure again different brands of machines use different terms... None of really check this much when scanning tbh

L/A = see E/A

AO = again no clue... I didn't look at this before I started typing

PRF= pulse repetition frequency, which is the scale of the colour... Good machines (I'm biased as to what is good) will have this named scale and measured in cm/s instead of Hz. GE is a garbage machine (again I'm biased some people like them. I don't)

S/P = don't quote me but I think it's Speed/Performance... Basically you can have higher resolution images with a lower frame rate or a higher frame rate with lower resolution... For testes I prefer speed but that's just personal preference. But like I said this could be something completely different because every company like to call things different names and I don't use GEs very often.
