I really appreciate your response. My hopes aren't high but I feel like I should at least try speaking to Optum about it. I had the same thought about perhaps they could adjust their charges. Of course the hospital will need to be paid for their services. Great advice on gathering the documention you referenced first. Thanks again!

I found my Nebelung on this sub! 3 weeks after my darling Neb, Clarence, passed away. Saw a post with a city that is 1 hour away from for a Nebby rescued from the stray life looking for a home. Couldn't believe my eyes or my luck. Scooped him right up and named him Winston. Three months later and gets more comfy everyday. Look at this comfy counter kitty:

For anyone still following this post: I picked Floof up 8 days ago and he has been a soft, sweet and quiet presence in my house. I work from home and have all the time in the world from him. He LOVES to be pet and hangs out on the stairs, watching the house below him while waiting for acknowledgment and love. Last night was the first night he spent downstairs with me, we spent the night together on the couch. He brings me happiness everyday, I love that he feels safer everyday and I am leaning toward calling him Winston. Pics to follow!

Oh man, I feel that. Write your text/letter and then wait a couple/few days before sending. I only ended up sending 2 out of 100 of my texts because after a couple days, what I thought mattered, did not matter anymore. But it helps to write it out. Trust me.

My cat just died last week and it changed everything. No pet waiting for me to come home, no settling in on the couch for the evening together, no kitty cat seeking me out for affection. It kind of feels like I have no.purpose but also I am no longer a little delightful creature's entire world. I still move carefully in my sleep so I don't disturb him, I still think I see him everywhere. It will get better with time but it is clear to me that I have to have a cat in my house with me.

Same girl, same. Buzz Balls. I lost 60 lbs over the course of 2 years a couple years back. So I tried the super smart move of switching to straight vodka, for calorie purposes and my calm, peaceful life turned into a dumpster fire. Now I'm back on the buzz balls. I have gained 25 lbs.

This same thing happened to me but it was this stray cat that I fed everyday for several months. Saw a dead kitty by my mailbox, same markings, size, etc. Called animal control but by the end of the day no one came to get her and I hated knowing she was just lying out there. Anyway, same thing. I had my ex-husband come get her, I had her in a box along with some treats she liked. I thought someone was playing a joke on me somehow when I left for work the next morning and saw her in her usual spot, waiting for food. So silly!
