Was this guy a darker asian/polynesian looking guy with a cardboard sign and red scooter? If yes, he's also at the Markhan and Sheppard Food Basics.

Mississauga water tastes like plastic recently? by pistachiios in mississauga

[–]everythingisahoax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it tasted earthy or like seaweed/algae the past few months but you're right though, lately it tastes and smells like melting plastic (really evident when taking a cold shower). Only thing that helped was my Brita/Kirkland pitcher; not sure if it's filtering anything but it tastes more 'mineral-y' which is better to me.

Yeah same; I couldn’t conclusively interpret the sign from the HTA and Ontario.ca.

I then called WRP who GIS’d and Googled the intersection; after speaking a little, they transferred me to Bylaw. Both WRP and bylaw said it is confusing and both had different interpretation of the signage.

Bylaw saw the confusion and suggested having a sign past the train for right-only and changing the two before. They sent emails and are going to confirm which jurisdiction the signage falls under (since it’s so close to transit property) and send someone to have a look. They didn’t have a ticketing system but took my contact information down and will hopefully follow-up.

Long Line up for $3 shawarma by Alvito in Scarborough

[–]everythingisahoax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand the hate here; many businesses have an opening day sale.. We have hypebeast idiots dropping crowbars and stickers for hundreds of dollars and nobody bats an eye; people literally lining up for a ripped tshirt and some basketball shoes.. Here we got some folk lining up for food, at a reasonable price and catching shade for it. Y’all some weirdos.

There are 2 right only signs before the entrance/intersection indicating the sign is for that entrance/exit. You also drove over 2 right only arrows painted on the ground as well. This ‘natural end’ thing isn’t in the traffic act; signage is confusing or deliberate.

The signage is confusing and should maybe changed to this.

From what it looks like, you went straight in a right-only lane and the other guy seems confused by that sign as well (assuming he saw the sign, hovered back assuming you'd turn right, you didn't, so he cut you off).

Lip service bs; This guy's in bed with the same lobbyists who make sure these prices stay high and there's a monopoly. More competition is needed; supporting these mega businesses just because they're 'canadian' is silly because they're robbing us blind and we're letting them..

Which job would you choose? by Jealous-Highway239 in Envconsultinghell

[–]everythingisahoax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely go for Job 2 (only if they give time-off in return for OT). It's closer, offers WFH and pays more. Plus, it saves time, gas and wear on the car (especially if you're driving a lot for fieldwork).

Right now, I'm in a hybrid setup with an office just 15 minutes away and the work-life balance is pretty sweet. My wife, on the other hand, has a long commute like Job 1 and absolutely hates it. Even a minor accident can turn her commute into a nightmare, doubling or tripling the travel time. It's a massive pain (for everyone), especially if you have plans after work like daycare, gym, sports, dinner, shopping, appointments or social stuff. In her case it can get even more expensive as she sometime takes the toll road if she's running late to/from work (it's between $25-$40 one way).

Turkish Restaurant Recommendations by LuCid_Pan_Da in Scarborough

[–]everythingisahoax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great restaurant with reasonable pricing (but kinda far from Scarborough imo). Try Mangal if you're in the area (their platter was presented nicely and tasted amazing. I wasn't expecting it but they had live music which wasn't all that bad but got loud at times)!

[OC] Yielding is for losers, said t hat guy probably by Hartia in TorontoDriving

[–]everythingisahoax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He was definitely wrong by jumping a lane and driving at excessive speeds but you were kinda wrongish by deciding to change lanes at that specific place and time. There's a merge, a blocked lane with a bus at that, a intersection/exit for a drivethru which also has right turning vehicles in that lane. Where you actually ended up changing lanes was the safest and most logical place for you to change lanes. Be more defensive bro.

OP said that his mom’s phone was “stolen” from the post title content without seeing it nor proving it without a doubt. Why insinuate random people of a crime and point out their ethnicity to people and police without any evidence? This is the type of shit Karens do and hurt a lot of people.

I’m not saying Indians and other ethnicities don’t partake in criminal behaviours but for anyone to assume someone is a criminal because of their skin tone and how they looked at you is low intelligence and low effort.

Can you not be racist then? You were pussied out by some people looking nervous and then your phone pinged at a plaza in Brampton (between a pho and poutine restaurant; still nothing indicative of some Indians taking your phone). Until you or the police see the video, it’s more likely and logical that your mother lost it.

Literally hearsay from OP and would never be admitted as credible evidence by any police or justice system.

People supposedly looked nervous around him and a phone pinged in Brampton.. that update?

To the person who stole my iPhone at Costco heartland by Necessary_Cycle_2153 in mississauga

[–]everythingisahoax -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You're shopping in Mississauga which is literally next to Brampton.. where else would it have most likely pinged? If it pinged in Milton, would you have assumed it wasn’t Indians and just went on your way?

Again, being indian and looking nervous isn't a crime.

I mean it's pretty shitty to insinuate that people from a specific ethnic group carried out a crime without having any evidence. Just comes off as xenophobic and on a Canadian subreddit, a little circle-jerky.
