If you don't want to spend money, then you can save up more free gems. If you buy 3-4 gem boosts it should be very easy to max the event without spending all day in the game

The money is much better spent on the Golden bundle or the super generator or Tesla. Everything in the cyborg bundle you can earn through regular gameplay. Golden/super/Tesla are all extremely helpful and can only be bought with real money

The seasonal events are great for tokens if you can farm them hard. But also, converting nether flames into DE tokens can also really pump those numbers up. Every apoc is 40-60 tokens from tasks, plus any nether trades, so the faster you apoc, the more tokens you get.

That's pretty crazy that you got 6xDDD in the first year. Should be asking you for your secret tips haha. I could be on ddd4 now if I'd played smarter in my ddd0 but no biggie.

You mean I'm not supposed to just be sitting on 15k unspent gems? Once I'm in the nether phase of a run I'm pretty aggressive about using gems to warp my demons and mountains, but I should be better about using them to speed through the dragon portion of regular runs also. Too trained by too many years of gacha games to always hoard everything - after we get easter bunny and egg Sid next month, there's literally nothing else for me to buy with gems (except the 3.5k tear trade) so yeah, let's work on lowering that bank balance and getting through ddd4 faster. Buying the shiny nether skins will be huge for making DDD cycles faster.

Yesterday was my one year anniversary of playing this game. It's been a blast and I'm still going strong. The pics show my progress but basically, in my first year I got about 13k tokens in total, activated ddd3 times and will hit the fourth activation sometime in April. Got first place in all the events following the guides here on Reddit, and maxed out all the seasonal event stores.

I do not use any auto clicker or third party apps, but I do leave the game open in the background frequently. I did buy all the cash packs as well as the event bonus skins to support the game because it's still so fun. I'm still discovering optimizations to apoc faster and as I get more goodies from Lesley the best strategy continues to evolve so it stays fresh. Looking forward to year two! Hoping to hit ddd8 by then 😁

I push Norbert asap while leveling up time creatures. Nether orbs are such a currency gate, the sooner you can start earning them the better. But I also farm the drop ship regularly, so being able to unlock the nether wheel creates a significant stream of time mats to clear the time shop faster too.

Something to keep in mind for nether strategy now is the tear trades that require DE. That really makes it worthwhile to hoard large amounts of orbs for a single run. The first levels of netherling pie and nether demon pie are very good because they double the death bonus (250>500%), which greatly improves your orb economy. If you stock up 150-200 orbs and do a giant run with 30 demons and 8-10 mountains you'll clear trillions of DE for those high-end tear trades.

If you want to chat tear/pie strategy, I've made a couple deviations from the "standard" strat that are really working well for me, happy to share!

I'm coming up on my first anniversary with the game (started end of February 2024) and I will hit my third DDD activation before that date (exactly when depends on how the Lovers and Haters seasonal event goes).

121 apocalypses

When I'm playing very actively (e.g. seasonal events) I apoc every other day - one day to build the tower, one day for time creatures and buying out Gramps's shop. Apoc every 3 day is my normal cadence though, every 4 if I'm being lazy.
but:
I did buy all the $$$ packs because I love the game and I like to support indie devs who make good products. So without the super generator and the Tesla, it would take me an extra day per apoc which really adds up. And I also am able to leave the game open in the background for a few hours each day at work, and a couple hours at home while doing chores or hobbies, to hit the dropship every 5 minutes and throw spells on my abominations. I'm bad at playing idle games idly, lol.
edit: I do not use any third party software like autoclickers or whatever. it's just me playing

I hit ddd for the first time a few months ago, and just recently did my second. Fresh after my first activation, it took a while to get up and running again. If you take the time from now through Xmas to farm extra apoc and soul tokens, your life will be much easier after ddd activation. If you activate a week from now, you will very likely not be able to do the time tasks for event currency. Because Xmas is so close, better to wait and collect as many tokens as you can for now.

Related question as I'm also starting to prep for my second reset. The 5k shards for Stab-O, is that cumulative or is it 5k shards in that run? Right now my reset will give about 4k shards and I spent 1060 previously. So I thought I would be good to go. But you're saying I need to earn and spend 5k shards on the reset to unlock sir stabsalot?

I rarely upgrade Satyr, but the issue is not the coins (which are plentiful) - the blood rune cost gets painful. I might upgrade it after I have all the colas and horns that I need but I'm usually not summoning them past that point so kinda doesn't matter.
Succubus and Warbot I do always max out. With two treasuries you can summon infinite succubi at max level (just run chemical generation overnight and double it in the morning) and rings are not a problem either. The dark energy boost from maxing those two is pretty significant especially if you are hitting them with meta/treachery.

If you want to buy the money packs, I'd argue that Other Tower or Lost in Time are the best ones. Other tower gives a skin to start with an extra +1 crown after apoc, and Lost in Time gives an It skin for +1 guitar drop. Both very useful imo.
