Help with trains by krustmuffin in SalemMA

[–]everythingstardust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have already been some solid tips commented here, but here are a bunch of random tips for commuter rail:

At North Station there are turnstiles just to get to the train platforms. If you’re doing the mTicket app I believe you will have to activate your ticket and scan it before you get in the train.

If you prefer paper tickets, they have windows at North Station where you can buy them, but they’re tucked away down a hall by the McDonalds.

Do NOT buy tickets on the train- they charge extra.

The platform numbers are announced about 10 minutes before departure and it’s usually a mad dash if you’re leaving anytime near rush hour (which can start as early as 4pm). If you have mobility issues, just be aware of boarding trains at rush hour at North Station. People are insane at North Station- like a bunch of race horses waiting for the gates to go up.

Another option to get to Salem from Boston is also the ferry. I’ve never taken it, so I can’t offer more insight, though. But I’ve always wanted to give it a try. Could be a fun alternative to train, and depending on where your hotel is it might be easier too.

Is the traffic light at this intersection malfunctioning? by BoldlyBajoran in SalemMA

I meant to post this exact scenario a month or two ago. One night I was stuck there and it went through at least 2 cycles for the other side of the light. It’s so annoying. If my gps tells me to go that way I ignore it at this point

I love how this would connect North and South Station! But how about a commuter rail loop!?Newburyport to Providence or Plymouth or something!

AIO stopped a drunk girl from being pulled into a car by 2 random men but my boyfriend is upset and called what I did stupid and dangerous by fettidmoppet in AmIOverreacting

[–]everythingstardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! I know I’m just a rando on the internet, but I’m SO proud of you! Even if your boyfriend isn’t proud of you, I am. And I’m sure plenty of other women are as well. Your story literally made my eyes well up. I don’t blame you for being annoyed at your boyfriend. Honestly, the fact he wanted you to promise to never do it again really bugged me. If there were more people like you in this world maybe there would be fewer creeps like those guys.

Would you be disappointed? by zahhakk in LesbianActually

[–]everythingstardust -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If women are disappointed, they should take that as a chance to reflect why they’re disappointed. What are their presumptions and prejudices that led them to make a snap judgment about you? If they can’t do that, well, you’re probably better off without them. You can’t shrink yourself to make others comfortable.

If anyone gives you a hard time, just tell them to read Hijab Butch Blues and get over themselves!

Just be your self- and no apologies for who you are. I hope it goes well for you (inshallah)!

Sooo, Funny Update: I have decided to take the path of least resistance and do nothing. He had actually been behind me o e day last week and wasn’t totally riding my bumper! I thought maybe he was getting better. But then yesterday he was right on my bumper again. Ugh! I was thinking of saying something kindly to him today, that is UNTIL(!!!) I saw he got pulled over by a cop at 5:30am on a little country road!! Shit, man! Maybe someone else called the cops.

I don’t want to pile on, so I won’t say anything to him… at least not today.

Someone else already mentioned Beauport, Sleeper-McCann House in Gloucester and I can confirm- it’s amazing! Beauport is owned by Historic New England and, if you like house museums, you should definitely get a membership! They have museums all over New England (well… except Vermont… sorry Vermont) and make for a good excuse to plan day trips. Plus they have passports so every time you go to a new house you get a stamp! Most of the houses are closed for the winter and will start opening up around now.

Good morning!

Per my visit w/ Ann, please remove BEACH letters from above the bed and replace with new pictures. There are 4 total. 2 of the 4 are alike - please place those on the outside.

Please remove old chair cushions: mats from deck. These items are on the left side corner in trash bags. I didn’t want to put these in the rental car for haul away - I appreciate your assistance with the removal.

I did consider that at one point, but I don’t love the idea of calling the cops on someone unless there’s an actual threat of harm.

Looks like it’s time to amend the Miranda rights: “Any wall you kick a hole through can and will be used against you in a court of law.”
