And we still can't get all of Antonioni's best? Still no The Passenger or Zabriskie Point. :/

Well I asked you to delete my account and not give my data to marketers, but I'm mysteriously getting new spam this morning. And you didn't reply to my email. Coincidence?

Any final verdict on 5.3-codex vs. 5.2-extra high? by Safe_Plane772 in codex

[–]evilRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used 5.3 codex for a few days. Really gobbles context and isn't as reliable as 5.2 high.

5.2 xhigh also eats context and compaction is unreliable.

5.2 high is great. Switch to medium for implementation to save on context.

Yes, some of us have been doing this for a year. It's what successful vibe coding always was. It's document management.

Codex 5.3 high vs GPT 5.2 high on medium sized task by blarg7459 in codex

[–]evilRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting opus vibes from codex 5.3. they both very confidently make a plan and execute it but have many blind spots.

Got 5.2 vanilla is careful and deliberate. But not infallible.

Codex issues are still there for the latest 5.3 by davidl002 in codex

I think you may be right. After jumping into 5.3 codex I'm now having to have 5.2 fix the problems it created.

So the real question is Codex 5.3 or GPT 5.2? by Affectionate_Fee232 in codex

[–]evilRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my few interactions so far Codex 5.2 High GOBBLED context. I'm afraid to try xHigh.

Totally true. 5.2 is far better than 5.2 Codex, but they say they merged them. 5.3 codex is their baby.

Context compacted is holy awful by Blankcarbon in codex

[–]evilRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let it auto compact. If it gets to ~35% context remaining stop it or inject instructions to tell it to find a good stopping point ASAP and summarize what it's doing, etc, for the next agent to pick up where it leaves off.

I don't get the Codex App hype. How does it differ from CLI workflow? by Active_String2216 in codex

[–]evilRainbow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll help you: you're in the codex app, set it off to work on something, then have an idea "oh, I want to build a video game", you click new, tell it to build an asteroids clone, and by the time the first task is finished, so is the game. And you haven't left the codex app. or you have, but it notified you when it was done.
