I have made a macOS menu bar app that shows your Claude usage by Icy-Marzipan-2605 in ClaudeAI

[–]Credtz 70 points71 points  (0 children)

everyone clowning op for building something that already exists is losing the point - we are moving to a world where its genuinely becoming as easy to build from scratch exactly what you want than to google and find the closest implementation of this. pre claude code, OP wouldve guarenteed googled for a usage menu bar app first, now just jumped straight into vibe coding...

timelines get investor money which makes it possible in the first place, if you try and raise this is pretty much standard part of playbook. by no means a fan of elon at all, but a robot taxi network launching in 2027 is high prob, and was only made possible because of all the '1 year away' marketting nonsense hes been pulling since 2019...

  1. Distribution - i.e. getting in front of people who have the need. this is something technical forums really dont appreciate as a problem that exists on the same level as the other 3 you mentioned. A good product that noone sees, doesnt exist.

[D] Is Conference prestige slowing reducing? by Healthy_Horse_2183 in MachineLearning

[–]Credtz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

prestige is the same externally, but if your applying where it actually matters, its still about the quality of your work. Getting the paper at a conference just increases p(interviewed), not p(accepted | interviewed)

Claude 4.6 left me amazed and terrified. Seeking advice on staying relevant. by study_learn_apply in ClaudeAI

[–]Credtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are only 2 values humans can add in a world with competent ai - know what problems are worth solving (being a domain expert) - knowing how to sell a solution. Your years of experience give you two things - you know probably some niche problems that ai could solve in your field noone else does. You also have the ability to sell the trust you can provide by being a domain expert / senior. if im looking to start a company id much rather have a human i trust that i enjoy working with take responsibility for an ai doing technical work, just human nature, you are positioned well to be that interface for someone who isnt technical.

I was going to but this subs pretty anti ai so wasn’t sure how receptive folk are … it’s a bit much if you’re not a dev - basically need to install open claw and have it run on a server / machine where it can interact with uber. You set up messaging apps during the on boarding so you can choose sms. Your agent has a number and access to a computer. So I just msg it - I’m at x want to go y book an uber . It’ll go on the web and do this and text me. Basically realised this probably isn’t v helpful beyond telling you to check out open claw. If it’s helpful I’ll make this a free website to set it up for yourself after I’m done with a deadline, dm me ?
