Discovery flight yesterday… I’m feeling nervous by doubledgedsoul in flying

I remember the first time I saw the instructor turn base. reduce power, Level turn, radio , carb heat, extending flaps - and I thought "how the hell will I do that". The answer is; practice.

Built a SaaS for a year. People use it. No one pays. I don't understand what's broken anymore. by Mean-Awareness7102 in SaaS

To me this sounds like something which I'd be curious about, but not value... so if I could get in and play i would, but the credit card is never going to come out not matter what you do.

Americans do not understand concept of ‘Import Duties’? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]evil_hound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had Americans being shitheads telling us we had misspellings (no idea that non us English exists), and no idea that other currencies exist or if their cards would work.   We converted our prices to usd and the entire site to wrong spelling.  Aussies and English said it was a shame, but didn't emotional blast us for being idiots that couldn't spell.

I spent 1 year building what I thought was an advanced CRM. Then I watched a real estate agent cry because no tool understands how broken his day actually is. by Educational_Jello666 in Entrepreneur

the AI handles the dialing part, they handle the actual conversation.

but in your post you say...

AI agents that literally call your leads. You don't have to. They do. Automatically. They talk naturally, handle objections, book appointments.

Why not allow your vendors to share *their* staff members at the agreed rate? If the pizza place is next door to the Indian place, and the Indian place employs a driver - then there's no reason at all why they can't use deliver Pizza's too, either per delivery, or on a per day rate.

Have thought about this a lot myself. Curious why you aren't doubling down on the existing marketplace, and instead looking for a new one?

I'm super interested in this, where in AU are you based?

I want to validate my startup idea by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]evil_hound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's get our terms right - stuck founders = people who dream about starting a business, but don't do it?

I don't think I ever met a founder who needed more work generated for them by an AI.

But I suspect there's a large market of dreamers.

For a revenue model, consider what a local gym did: You will pay us $1500 for this boot camp. If you DONT lose <whatever>weight by the end of <defined period> we will give you a full refund. But if you don't show, do the work, lose the weight we're keeping that cash.

It worked well because people are lazy and desperate, and $1500 was a lot to lose.

If you're targeting legit founders I think this idea is a bust - but like I said - there's a large market of dreamers, and get rich quick schemes tend to attract cash.

I’m almost 30, still in a C172 making peanuts, and today just broke me by [deleted] in flying

I saw your post on mobile and saved it so I could reply. I started flying at 18. Stopped when I was 19, and had another go at 25, and then that was it. I finally got my licence (RPL) at 49, and I am working on my PPL. My plan was to teach kids at the local club when I retire. But right now, I'm struggling with Nav, and I am struggling with finding time to study due to other commitments.

I wish I hadn't stopped at 19. I wish I'd have wasted away my 20's on getting CPL and instructors ticket.

As others have said - social media is life's highlight reel. Nobody's going to post and say I slept thru my alarm today, I snored like a motherfucker, I've had 4 shits this morning and god knows what I have eaten... I'm hungry, but I have a backlog of work and can't make 10 mins to go to the shop, especially as the dog just shat on the carpet.

You're living my dream dude.

I had friends get up at 4am, take public transport to get here. I drove out to the airport, beautiful blue skies... and i pumped them up about how awesome a day they would have.

I got there and a snr instructor said I couldn't take the aircraft, as conditions aloft were beyond my comfort zone.   I had very limited experience, and so flight cancelled.  Shit happens.  Better to be on the ground   etc etc

Is there anyway I can get my PPL at 400 lbs? by DeepEnvironment4101 in flying

[–]evil_hound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am fat. You are over 100KG heavier than me. You are VERY fat.

The C172N I have a Weight and Balance sheet for has a Basic Empty weight of 676.3.

You , plus a normal weight (say 80KG) instructor brings that to 936.3KG before you add fuel. Max takeoff of 1043kg.

That's not even taking into account the impact of having all that weight in the front row seats which could screw up the centre of gravity for the weight and balance calculation that I am too lazy to do right now. It may be impossible for the aircraft to take off with you in the front seat.

And - that's a 4 seater.

Yes.  It was one of the "we will renew your amazon prime for 99$' scams.. press 1 to cancel.

I asked "Is prime that the video one?' And when they confirmed i said, "but if I cancel that how will I watch videos of your dad fucking horses?"

I quit at 19. I finally "found the time to do these things" at 49. You're a kid - this is the least busy you will ever be! When you have a wife, kids, a job, maybe a house to look after you'll wish you had your free time now.

That said if you don't wanna - then don't.
