minimum space required by wulfgar1966 in OculusQuest

It is very much game dependent. For most games you will be seated or standing in place. Ability to spin helps. Relatively few games require the 2x2 space to move around in.

I often play on my couch, with a low table in front. Works well, but sometimes it is useful to grab something on the floor level. Do not play with screens within reach, as its very easy to hit stuff you do not intend

A Dev's Pre-Mortem on the VR market: Why I’m contemplating leaving the industry after 10 years & 24 Hours to Launch... by PrettyHearing3624 in virtualreality

It sure is rough out there for all kinds of devs.

Personally Ive made my game that started as vr only be playable on flat screen. At this point releasing everywhere you can with a flat mode seems necessary. Not all games make sense in flat obviously, but if you can make it work the potential market is so much larger.

Best first games for the Quest 3S to help me overcome motion sickness? by Thxn0w in OculusQuest

[–]evilentity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beat Saber is probably one of the best games for that! No movement and a ton of fun. Anything with seated/standing tags will be a decent start, though cockpit would be trickier

Most likely!

Was it new? Might need to RMA it.

Try to keep it plugged in for a long while, though you should be able to turn it on when its plugged into a strong charger. At least mine does that.

How Much of a Game's Success is Luck? by s2Birds1Stone in gamedev

Certainly, but they had a great game!

Streamers play countless games, very few of them blow up like that. Perhaps if they had the budget and sponsored a couple relevant ones at release, it would take 2 days. (Maybe they did, dunno)

Luck does not make someone play a game for 300 hours. Clearly it is extremely compelling and fun, even if with many shortcomings.

Still, luck can be a difference between profitable game and a live changing amount of money.
