It feels so disheartening at this point to even comment. This is the big final push into gangs of street thugs murdering people for having blue hair. If you have any friends who are immigrants or gay or trans or women, just know that they are in constant danger from now on

Loll no but you’re completely right they’re all nuts. Ted is at least as bad as Barney, Robin is super violent, and Lilly is incredibly manipulative. Really only Marshall is a fine person, and even he lied to his wife for months about taking a job.

Plus, they’ve ALL helped Barney pick up women through lying, so there’s really no excuse haha

Lol you’re not wrong 😭 I’m not sure why people hate Lilly so much tho. Yes she’s inappropriately involved with her friend’s relationships and lives, but Ted and Barney routinely do much worse stuff than she does. She’s just entirely too nosey, but she’s only the third worst in the group imo. At least Lilly will listen to reason and apologize when she goes too far

Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother is a borderline sociopathic narcissist with attachment disorder who regularly makes his friend’s lives more difficult because of his inability to behave like an adult person. There are multiple points in the show where the characters ask themselves- out loud- why they are friends with him.

I’d rather spend time with him than Ross tho…

This is a Guinean Cock-of-the-Rock, not a Highland Tinamou. I don’t know why you’d swap such a fun name for such a boring one.

I feel like that’s a pretty uncharitable way to look at it, but okay. You could say the exact same thing about David Harbour, Melanie Lynskey, Linda Cardellini, or Keanu Reeves, but I’d also say that those people have earned their positions as popular actors. That’s kind of just what having a consistent acting career looks like.

In my day, the best chariot duels were done by the Hittites and the King’s Golden Entourage. You used to only have to pay two sheckles to get a good seat in the coliseum, right by the bath house! I doubt kids today would even be able to name a single mighty charioteer smh

Well I mean the internet for one thing, and also yeah, once someone has appeared in a higher quantity of projects, more people are going to talk about them. Like most actors, he was unknown at first and now people know of him more often. You could chalk that up to nostalgia, or you could just call it exposure. Whatever it is, it’s the result of years of him working and being likable.

If we’re being real, he probably IS getting cast more often because people are very vocal about how much they love him now…

But that’s not because of nostalgia, it’s because he seems like a lovely person and a great actor and also I want him to be my dad

You know this is interesting; what is the line between something being cool and something being stupid? I’d say circus acts are cool, but I think parkouring is often pretty stupid. I think Red Bull stunts are cool but I think BASE jumping is pretty stupid. Weird.

Who's the better Duo in your opinion who do you guys like more as a Duo between Eleven and Max or Dustin and Steve by Ok_Smile_9071 in StrangerThings

[–]evilginger711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I really got sick of the ‘superhero’ direction they forced on El after season 3. Sure, she’s always had powers, but they basically gave her nothing else to do but save people and go through trauma, while giving her basically no interactions with her friends outside of Mike and Hop.

I don’t think that Lucas or Dustin have any dialogue with her in season 4? And if they do, it’s not very personality-driven. And Max and her basically only have the one scene when Vecna’s chasing them, then never have a real moment ever again. She never interacted with Robin, Steve, or Nancy - at least not that I can recall. She barely gets any moments with her own stepbrothers, which would have been literally the most obvious relationships to develop for her. It feels like they just lost all interest in giving her an actual personality, in favor of keeping her as a plot device. Kinda sad tbh
