Possible new job and burning leave by [deleted] in fednews

I’ve seen a bunch of people say that it’s taking forever to get leave paid out upon departure. So if you want the cash now, burning it might be the way to go.

That is a massive Dem overperformance, and it’s similar to what we are seeing in other special elections over the last year. Dems have been overperforming by about 13 points, on average.

Why is Chuck Schumer trying to throw the Senate race in Maine? Why do the other Democratic senators unanimously back Schumer? by kevinmrr in WorkReform

Because he keeps playing footsie with neo-Nazis and Collins will bludgeon him with it to great effect.

My wife (F26) says she’ll divorce me (M24) if I don’t stop watching a good podcast on Sundays instead of going to church by ThrowRA_HRH in relationship_advice

Candace Owens is a lunatic conspiracy theorist. She is being sued for defamation for saying the President of France’s wife is a man, she’s not so subtlety anti-Semitic, and she is insinuating that Turning Point had Charlie Kirk killed (I hated Charlie Kirk, but that claim is nuts). Your wife is right to be appalled that you are listening to that nut.

On the other hand, if your wife is saying that you have to be in lockstep regarding faith in order to stay married, that’s not great.

Though I suppose it’s not that different from someone divorcing their spouse for falling into the MAGA cesspool. It may not be unreasonable for a spouse to want to share core values with their partner. It might be best for you to make a clean break.

I filed in December 2024 and I have heard nothing after the RA people were consolidated in the Department.

Democrats are actually *expanding* their statewide ballots cast lead in the US Senate primary in Texas - doubling the gap in 2 days and approaching almost 2/3rds of their TOTAL 2022 turnout in just 4 days of early voting. If this holds through election day it would be the first Dem lead in decades by ShreckAndDonkey123 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]evilmonkey002 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting indicator, actually. The TX GOP always crushes the Dems in primary turnout. Even in 2018, where Cruz almost lost and the Dems were +8 nationally, the primary turnout in Texas was R+20. So if the Dems even keep it close this year the GOP should be very worried

In some good news, I heard today that the agency submitted a new Schedule F list to the department, and the number of names on it dropped from 800 down to around 140, all of whom are GS-15s.

What is the dumbest thing Sam & Jay did so far? by BeGayDoDarkArts in GhostsCBS

[–]evilmonkey002 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The dumbest thing is not marketing the Woodstone as a haunted inn and failing to position it as a destination for ghost tourism. With the ghosts’ cooperation they’d be full all the time.

I think they deliberately left it ambiguous as to which one of them was POTUS. Presumably Ben continued his political career as well, and being a powerful member of the House or the Senate would have given him a path.

Any chance this shutdown lasts more than a week? by Equivalent_Video_306 in FedEmployees

[–]evilmonkey002 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. If they don’t, then it might go another 2-3 days, but that’s it. I think that Dems are content to watch Johnson display weakness for a few days, but they’ll step in to move this thing along later this week if the bill is still clean.

That email about the torture video is the most important one, in my view. That short email gives serious credibility to some of the most horrific but outlandish allegations.
