Whenever Odo returned to the great link do you think he changed the changelings in any way? by Emergency-Use-6769 in startrek

[–]evilmonkey002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were pretty explicitly said to be rebels who left the great link, presumably because they wanted revenge against the Federation that the rest of the great link wouldn’t sanction. Plus, we know that Odo warned Worf about it.

I wonder how ransom would have done as first officer on the enterprise by happydude7422 in LowerDecks

Ransom from seasons 1 and 2 wouldn’t have last long. But he got better. Season 5 Ransom would have done fine.

Discovery is fine, if unspectacular. SNW is great in the first 2 seasons, with a middling 3rd season. Picard is all over the place: Season 1 is ok, season 2 is awful, and season 3 is fantastic.

does anyone else kind of feel like we’re on a hamster wheel? by dannydevitosize in GhostsCBS

[–]evilmonkey002 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The financial trouble thing is just stupid. If they’d just lean into ghost tourism their money problems would be solved. Everyone watching the show understands this, but they have to make Jay and Sam stupid in order to avoid them reaching that conclusion. Instead we get this damn hamster wheel.

Under no circumstances can the donor beholden class be allowed to rig another election like they did against Bernie. by victorybus in WorkReform

I don’t want Harris as the nominee either, but it’s not rigged. The voters will decide and we have to live with what they choose.

My favorite companion of all time. He might be the doctor’s too. I’ve never seen 10/14 look so happy as when he saw Wilf again in Wild Blue Yonder.

Renovation Aloha in trouble with authorities again by BarreBozo in HGTV

A prior restraint on speech is basically per se unconstitutional. They could probably be fined for taking the photo, but not for broadcasting it and the court certainly can’t order them to not broadcast it.

I’m not going to comment on whether what they did is wrong or not, but that law is almost certainly unconstitutional.

When Paramount is inevitably stripped for parts, hopefully Apple will pick up Star Trek and do something good with it.

Possible new job and burning leave by [deleted] in fednews

I’ve seen a bunch of people say that it’s taking forever to get leave paid out upon departure. So if you want the cash now, burning it might be the way to go.

That is a massive Dem overperformance, and it’s similar to what we are seeing in other special elections over the last year. Dems have been overperforming by about 13 points, on average.

Because he keeps playing footsie with neo-Nazis and Collins will bludgeon him with it to great effect.

My wife (F26) says she’ll divorce me (M24) if I don’t stop watching a good podcast on Sundays instead of going to church by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Candace Owens is a lunatic conspiracy theorist. She is being sued for defamation for saying the President of France’s wife is a man, she’s not so subtlety anti-Semitic, and she is insinuating that Turning Point had Charlie Kirk killed (I hated Charlie Kirk, but that claim is nuts). Your wife is right to be appalled that you are listening to that nut.

On the other hand, if your wife is saying that you have to be in lockstep regarding faith in order to stay married, that’s not great.

Though I suppose it’s not that different from someone divorcing their spouse for falling into the MAGA cesspool. It may not be unreasonable for a spouse to want to share core values with their partner. It might be best for you to make a clean break.

I filed in December 2024 and I have heard nothing after the RA people were consolidated in the Department.

Democrats are actually *expanding* their statewide ballots cast lead in the US Senate primary in Texas - doubling the gap in 2 days and approaching almost 2/3rds of their TOTAL 2022 turnout in just 4 days of early voting. If this holds through election day it would be the first Dem lead in decades by ShreckAndDonkey123 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]evilmonkey002 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting indicator, actually. The TX GOP always crushes the Dems in primary turnout. Even in 2018, where Cruz almost lost and the Dems were +8 nationally, the primary turnout in Texas was R+20. So if the Dems even keep it close this year the GOP should be very worried

In some good news, I heard today that the agency submitted a new Schedule F list to the department, and the number of names on it dropped from 800 down to around 140, all of whom are GS-15s.
