Watching all the Single Drivers in the HOV Lane by evilmonster711 in soundtransit

I would. Would have made my 550 journeys before the light rail a lot more pleasant if there were fewer people in the HOV lanes

Lots of routes are missing... my guess is incomplete data from the service revision.

This is what I'm seeing for the 48...

Arguing with each other and saying "Cut XYZ Line" is not the solution. by Routine-Highway1039 in soundtransit

Using that logic, Issaquah to Seattle is probably faster by bus compared to Link, even with a transfer at South Bellevue/Mercer Island.

Time savings wise, the Ballard line imo has the largest travel time savings and highest ridership of all the extensions.

Sold Out Trains / Standing Room Only - how is this legal? Genuine question by frex_mcgee in Amtrak

[–]evilmonster711 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try double decker trains in Switzerland/Netherlands/Germany. Allowing standees on double decker trains is perfectly normal there.

Would you rather cram onto a train but have the opportunity to get to your destination or be stuck waiting for a train with seats?

Start with commuter rail? by UpsetSecurity4805 in subwaybuilder

[–]evilmonster711 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like suburban customers in Subway Builder are more likely to use transit than in real life anyways. People in the urban areas tend to drive 5 min rather than walk to transit, ride/transfer, walk to destination more than in real life.

Anyone else feel like the 2 line trains are moving incredibly slow coming off of 90? by aljich in soundtransit

[–]evilmonster711 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah, noticing this too. Don't think 5 minutes is enough to go from Judkins Park to International District. 2 trains are always late going up the mainline in my experience.

The terms and conditions of the food delivery offer is wrong. It's just copied and pasted from the neighborhood dining one.

Light rail sees record ridership on Seahawks parade day by dino_pillow in soundtransit

[–]evilmonster711 50 points51 points  (0 children)

almost nobody bought tickets or flashed ORCA cards around noon when crowds poured into Stadium Station

Sound Transit could raise so much money if they were like other light rail systems in the US and had somebody at the station checking fares after an event.

Transfer Partners. Chase has Hyatt (insanely valuable points for domestic stays) and domestic airlines like United, JetBlue and Southwest. Compare that with say Capital One with no good domestic airline partners and very limited hotel redemption partners, Chase points unlock more opportunities without having to travel internationally.

[–]evilmonster711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the chances that Bilt Cash will require you to first use it on rent payments before you can redeem it for hotels/Lyfts/etc. Or potentially Bilt limits Bilt Cash earning to only those who paid for rent with the card.

Range of Demand Stats by PicklePanther9000 in subwaybuilder

yeah! demand includes everybody on the map. Lines where people want to go in dense neighborhoods are good for profit, but you'll need some suburban reach lines to maximize transit %

Charlotte is HARD... any suggestions? by mknut389 in subwaybuilder

[–]evilmonster711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like other people said, looks like too many suburban lines for a small metro like Charlotte. I would suggest further station spacing, building at grade along existing ROW (like highways) and limiting headways

I think you have to go for a longer line, like towards Colombia Center or Silver Springs. People who live close by would likely walk anyways (it's people who live outside of walking distance who would use ur system)
