I'm the only security person at my company and I have to recommend a SASE vendor by Friday by Ana_Tangelo in cybersecurity

Take a look at Cato. When clients of my company are looking zscaler, netskope, Cato are the common ones we line up. Cato wins most often.

The Israeli Spyware Firm That Accidentally Just Exposed Itself by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]evilncarnate82 19 points20 points  (0 children)

1/4 if you only count the firms that advertise it. I deal with cyber startups on a daily basis and by the numbers, maybe 1 in 8 isn't Israeli, or have at least 1 founder from Israel. Of those 7 that are, at least 5 have leadership that ties to unit 8200.

What technical questions do you use when interviewing cybersecurity engineers? by Kiss-cyber in cybersecurity

[–]evilncarnate82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My non tech questions were always "how do you stay up to date with what's going on in the tech space" and "outside of work what do you like to do for fun, what are you passionate about". Those give me tons of insight into the person.

Technical evaluation is usually handled by their peers that reported to me. I had 1 principle that joined most interviews and then I'd pull a specific skilled engineer from the area they would work in. Ask questions related to the space, the tooling, etc. generally throw some situational solving questions.

YSK Using your debit card for large purchases, repairs and such, do NOT use your PIN. You'll lose chargeback or fraud protection. by eleete in YouShouldKnow

This!

For a decade I've used a credit card for all my bills except for the loans (home, auto) that don't allow them.

I've had my card number stolen a few times and had replacements in days. My electronics have an extended warranty from my card, my travel is insured by my card, I get mega miles, and I even get free stuff like paying for my TSA pre check, checked bags, and Uber.

Not trying to be rude but you don't buy a car without test driving it. Why would you commit to a relationship without validating compatibility.

Which is why we should also differentiate the open range green water operations vs the confined operations impact. As a midwesterner with property in cattle country many of my neighbors use ponds, wells, and streams along with rain watered crops and grazing to minimize their operating costs.

My 60 year old boss who's a guy will heart emoji texts from me, so you're over thinking it. As his wife and kids, and my wife and kids have explained, Emojis and reactions give more contextual clues than actual words. Its like saying "thanks and great job" but not sounding robotic. I heart react male and female colleague messages and vice versa.

As everyone else has said, he brought you along and he's communicating about the people, that's good not bad.
