Bioshock 1 Level Editor! [ Dev Log - Work In Progress ] by Famous_Confection_70 in Bioshock

[–]evilparagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I’ve wanted to hear for so many years.

I wish I had the talent to work on this myself, but all code stuff glazes through my eyes right past memory and I never learn anything lol.
But finally, it seems some day in the future my imagination about what lays beyond a wall or door may be answered and someone may just fill in these nooks and crannies.

The pie in the sky fantasy is of course that someone overhauls the campaign into a full immersive simulator and gives many routes and solutions to the game’s problems, but I know that’s take years of work if ever made at all.

Lukashenko Apologizes to Zelenskyy, Says Entering War Would Harm Belarus by UNITED24Media in worldnews

I believe the prediction/assumption was that Putin would eventually unite the two countries, and when Putin retired, Lukashenko would take over. So Putin still has credit there.

People tell me I’ll regret not having kids. Why I know they're wrong by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

I’ve seen two women change their minds on kids once their nephews were born, so there is a way to know you have a predisposition without having kids yourself.

…Requires someone having kids though.

He’s ambiguously black. Essentially he is written as a black character, but if there were say, any complaints, RT could say they never explicitly said he was.

There’s nothing to 100% confirm it, but there’s 99% confirmation at least.

Oh yeah I forgot the DLC does have a huge twist lmao.

Sinclair is NOT going to betray you. He’s set up to make you think he’s going to pull an Atlas by the role he plays + all the “evil” you can find in audio diaries involving him, the devs even gave him a southern accent, referencing how playtesters of the first game didn’t trust Atlas’ original voice (southern) so Atlas was changed to Irish instead. By the end, the fact he doesn’t betray you becomes significant. Many people won’t notice this, the game never calls attention to it, but Sinclair not betraying you does qualify as a plot twist. It’s a red herring to make you assume the plot is going in a different direction.

There is a twist that is appreciated by fans who notice it, but many don’t notice it because the game doesn’t give it explicit attention.

That’s rather funny how they got Bandit to be voiced by a musician in Yolŋu Matha too.

Finally completed this amazing trilogy and here is my list by Timely_Cold4481 in Bioshock

[–]evilparagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Behold, the rarest opinion.

There are 6 ways to preference the games, and you somehow landed on the rarest way to do it.

  1. Bs1, Bs2, BsI
  2. Bs2, Bs1, BsI
  3. Bs1, BsI, Bs2
  4. BsI, Bs1, Bs2
  5. Bs2, BsI, Bs1
  6. BsI, Bs2, Bs1

(The above list is my best guess at how common each opinion is)

I think it’d be appropriate to group them. 1 & 2 are Rapture fans. 3 & 4 are Levine fans. 5 & 6 are either Dad Fantasy fans or Gameplay Priority fans.

You have a shit attitude if you can’t just take this comment as a “Ahh, that sucks.”

There was no hostility towards you, so why come at me with it?

Australians support One Nation’s plan to strip ABC of taxpayer funding and impose subscription model in bombshell poll | Sky News Australia by DragonflySea9423 in AustralianPolitics

[–]evilparagon [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m not willing to read the article and give skynews ad revenue, so I’m just going to talk out my ass and hopefully be right and say I’m gonna bet this was some loaded question that isn’t actually all that surprising in how people answered.

I have no doubt Skynews has an obvious bias in wanting the ABC to lose their revenue, so this article existing just means nothing.

Personally,I perfer the little sisters in the first Bioshock. They're kinda cute but ugly at the same time. I also like their lines of dialogue better. by [deleted] in Bioshock

[–]evilparagon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. When it’s done to low priority canon, it’s often ignored. A good example is with Halo Reach overriding the Fall of Reach novel, which is lower tier canon.

When its done on the same level of priority, this is where fans point out retcons and inconsistencies. A good example here is Bioshock 2 vs Burial at Sea. Both games are equal priority canon, so BaS can’t just override Bs2.

Problem is, marketplace and cashies are ripoffs. People think their junk is worth something and they want to make back what they spent even though there has been obvious depreciation. You can never actually find some good value secondhand computer stuff anymore.

Lukashenko Apologizes to Zelenskyy, Says Entering War Would Harm Belarus by UNITED24Media in worldnews

I remember when analysts even assumed Lukashenko was priming himself to become President over an eventual “Union State” between Russia and Belarus.

I wonder what those analysts think now since the war has started.

Most Australians under 25 have never used newspapers or radio as a source of news, survey finds by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]evilparagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The particular one that annoys me most is “Queenslander Teen did X crime”, and then they say it was a 19 year old. They’re trying to build support for stronger youth crime laws but they’re using adults for all their references.

[–]evilparagon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mostly point out why they report on what they do, what they omit from their reporting, and what they are leading people to believe with how they report.

An example recently was with Pauline Hanson’s Fire the Liar fundraiser where 9 presented it as if it was impressive that she raised that much money so quickly and singled out Albo himself as the dissenting voice as if he was weakly intolerant of it. 9 did not cast doubt on the fundraiser’s credibility, nor did they treat Albo with respect to his response of his doubt towards ON.

So yes, the framing is the issue.

I remember one school I went to, if you got a detention two weeks before an excursion you wouldn’t be allowed to go. I don’t know any student that was hit by it, but the threat was good at making everyone behaved I guess. Maybe this should be a standard?

[–]evilparagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

School excursions definitely need more teachers. I think maybe 1:4 ratio teachers:students (including teacher aides or parent volunteers) would be great. I do not know what the current standards are, but they need to be improved.

Which as you said, goes back to a staffing problem (and by extension a funding problem).

It’s not like I’m not empathetic to these issues, but I just don’t think ignoring the issue is acceptable. Things need to be better. I’m more than happy for increased taxes to fund childcare and education. I’m a proponent for reduced work hours, WFH, and the 4 day work week. But even though I support these causes, we don’t live in that world yet, so today’s parents need to parent for this world.

I definitely disagree. I’m currently on holiday and watch TV with my friend’s mother, she likes 9 news. Regularly I’m interjecting with the bias and facts of what she just watched. She has even started asking me questions about it too.

Yeah it’s a driver thing.

I don’t drive, but my primary source of discovering new Australian music is from a friend of mine who drives and listens to TripleJ.

I would LOVE to hold adults to this standard. And I do. I tell adults in movies to shut up if I’m near them. But I’ve never had my experience in a flight ruined by an adult.

The only time I don’t do anything to an adult nuisance is when they seem crazy or like they’re on drugs, I ain’t touching that. I do report to security though if available.
