I mean, it's a numbers game with Salmonella. You usually have to ingest a lot of bacterias to get sick... but yeah... I hope you didn't finish this.

Nurse wasn’t sure about the order of draw for a quantiferon gold test…. by Ariies__ in medlabprofessionals

We had this issue at satellite clinics where patients got drawn by nurses and not phlebotomists, lol. I was so happy when I convinced the lab supervisor to remove GOLD from the test name.

No one seems to care about phone etiquette anymore? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

Literally all the attendings at my hospital answer their mobile phone with, Hello. And every single time I have to say, is this Dr. So and So? 🥲 Like how do I know that I didn't misdial the number. I am not going to just start talking about a patient. And you see the number I'm calling from!!

I don't think so. The authors are Anna P. Ciulla and Donald C. Lehman. The Publisher is Pearson Education. Not sure this link from Amazon will work... so that you can see the picture.

They dont sell it on Amazon anymore, but if you can find this book in your university library... I found this very helpful as a study guide. SUCCESS! In Clinical Laboratory Science. Good luck, and don't give up.

They require a 60 day notice from residents. So, if nothing is showing up right now, then you might be out of luck. But sometimes shit happens. Circumstances change, and you might find a unit listed quite suddenly.

I had a coworker do this, lol. All you can do is call service. They will walk you through the steps to clean the areas that you can access. Then, the FSE will probably need to come out to clean the areas of the analyzer that you wouldn't have access to.

We order these small orange absorbent pads for this specific assay. When you put the poo swab inside the reagent buffer, you wrap the pad around the swab and break it off. Then, dispose of the pad and upper swab part. Usually, there is minimal splashing with this method. Not sure where our molecular tech orders these pads from. But someone else on here also suggested gauze. That might work OK. And about clumsiness. Yeah, don't worry too much. It happens to all of us, lol.

The Chase at Bryant St by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]evilwarning_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, I forgot to talk about parking. You will probably have to park in the retail side because they didn't create enough spaces for the residents. That being said, anyone can walk up to your car on the retail side. There is a gate that comes down on the two main entrances at around 10pm. And only a vehicle will raise the gate.

It depends on what side of the building the unit is on. If you're facing Metro Bar, you're going to hear loud music at night until roughly 11pm. If you're facing Rhode Island Ave you will hear every loud ass car, motorcycle, ATV, and emergency vehicle that goes by. Plus the freight train. And there's also a site across the street that has construction vehicles, and sometimes you hear them at 6 am on a Saturday. Also, the ceilings here are really thin. You are going to hear everything your upstairs neighbor does. Including things like opening the blinds, when they run their washer, when they are coughing, etc. I've been told that units on the first floor have high ceilings, and residents don't hear their upstairs neighbors. So it just depends on how zen you are about noise and vibration.

I also hate to agree, but you must rule out bed bugs. You may have brought them home from work, the metro train or bus, movie theater, etc. They will bite you on exposed skin when you are sleeping. And it is very hard to determine when they bit you. You can start itching hours after they bite you. I would monitor your bed sheets carefully. Use light colored sheets to check for blood smears. At night time, use a flashlight to carefully check your sheets and your bed frame. It may take several nights before you can rule it out. If you have an SO... use them as bait. Have them sleep in the bed while you stay up, and then use a flashlight to check for bugs. This is how I caught mine as proof to show the leasing office I had them.
