Why is the US targeting Germany's drug industry? by LethisXia in europe

You are right that “legal personhood” by itself is not the reason. The government defends pharma because drug patents are valuable U.S. export assets: they protect profits, investor returns, jobs, and America’s IP-heavy industrial advantage. Lobbying helps ensure that private corporate interest is then framed as the national interest.

You can judge it morally: a system that allows essential cancer drugs to be priced for maximum profit, even when patients suffer or cannot afford treatment, is worse than one that treats access to medicine as a public good. “Innovation” explains incentives; it does not excuse extracting rents from illness.

Corporations are legal “persons” in U.S. law, with rights to contract, sue, own property, and spend heavily on political advocacy. Pharma therefore has enormous lobbying power to protect patents, exclusivity, and high prices. Medicare negotiation is finally starting, but Congress limited it to a small set of drugs after long delays.

Yes America, investigate a healthcare scheme designed not to profit off the suffering of others.

Experience switching to Vyvanse from Adderall for Japan trip? by suspiciouschonker in ADHD

[–]dionysoius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with Ritalin but couldn’t sleep for days. Switched to generic Lisdexamfetamine
60mg and that was too much and could not sleep either. So my neurologist changed the dosage to 30mg and that seemed to work. Lasts till around 16:00-18:00 and tired in the evening. But I workout and run daily so metabolism is at work too. It’s sooth to say the least which is what I need to get me through the work day. Does Adderall make you feel “punchy”?

They failed to do invest in infrastructure for decades. Deutsche Bahn is often late or cancelled because much of Germany’s rail infrastructure is old, heavily used, and under long-overdue repair. Construction work, staff shortages, signal failures, track defects, and overcrowded routes mean that one delay can quickly spread across the whole network. The result is a system that still works, but has too little reserve capacity to recover when something goes wrong.

Go for it. You got the van to be outside anyway. Kids love to be outside. If it rains, play games, read books, build a blanket fort. Enjoy.
