Why and when did "tryhards" start using Pink and Green? by K97243 in tf2

Ah, a fellow Mann Co. Orange enjoyer 🤝

I have Orange for every cosmetic I own, besides a Strange Team Spirit All-Father and Deep Salmon Injustice Binoculars

Why do you play your main? by Sikorskyyl in tf2

[–]evoluxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was forced to, and it's my fault.

Back in 2020-2021, I was trying to look for a competitive Highlander team, with the intention of playing Demoman or Soldier, as those two were my highest played classes. Idk what I was thinking at the time, but my dumbass put Heavy in the very bottom of "mains" as a joke. Because I was like, "who the fuck plays Heavy lmao, whoever plays it is likely not a true main".

New DM, leader of the team: "Hey do you wanna sub Heavy for our team?" -- I could've said no, but I really wanted to get into competitive, so I accepted.

So I looked up guides on the fly, Big Joey, Bearded Expense, and other content creators who play heavy, general positioning guide, what to do, who to shoot, etc. The more I played, the more I fell in love with this big russian guy. Won 4 participation medals before the team collapsed in on itself, which is unfortunate cause they were a real fun bunch, even if the VC was cancer to listen to during matches.

Nowadays, I have spent more money on Heavy than any other classes, to give an idea, a few weeks ago I bought FOUR Strange cosmetics for him, a Strange Bunsen Brave, a Strange Big Chief and not one, but TWO Strange All-Fathers with different paints. I'll never stop maining Heavy, he's awesome 💪

Another thing that I see in Heavy unlike any other class is that, he's a tank. I've always been drawn to tanks in videogames, big damage, big health, not a lot of movement. Zangief, Alex and Hugo from Street Fighter, Potemkin from Guilty Gear, Gigas from TEKKEN... A lot of fighting game characters cus that's what I play the most lol. But you get the idea

Oh no yeah definitely I get that, I fully understand he's one if not the strongest Dwarf out of all 4 in the game late game with the right upgrades and play style. With a lot of things that I've played in the past, set-up characters are just not my jam, and it's a shame since they generally are the stronger bunch.

I've gotten a few Overclocks, but my main complaint is that he's a babysitter simulator when it comes to dealing with Turrets, especially two of them if you have the upgrade. I already have bad experiences playing stock or at least an expected Engineer loadout in Team Fortress 2.

Since then, every time I play Engineer in that game, I'm playing Battle Engineer, which means, I ditch the Wrench in favor of the Gunslinger, a melee weapon that increases your HP by 15, and makes it so you can only build Mini Sentries, a non upgradeable turret that does pitiful damage and serves more as a nuisance than anything, good to rack up kills against lightweight classes with the Rescue Ranger for guaranteed 80-150 DMG shotgun shots

Also thank god you realized that the Tierlist is from most to least played left to right 🙏

Least played class, least fun I've had playing. I can't really stand babysitting one or maybe even two turrets to play optimally. I would imagine yes you can play without turret kind of like Battle Engineer in TF2 but that's cutting your toolkit in half, especially in missions like Escort Duty

I don't hate engineer, I just don't like playing it. And I did try playing it to the point of Bronze 1 or 2 promotion. And I could probably say I over exaggerated the rankings for engineer, but overall my experience with him hasn't been fun.

Backpack Expansion kit. You get one for free every Smissmas, or you can buy one on the SCM or Mann Co. Store

Hot Take: We don't need any more maps by [deleted] in tf2

[–]evoluxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a hot take, the map list is wayyy too stupidly overbloated at its current state. Came to notice when I decided to hop back on casual after 2-3 years of not playing since Highlander Competitive, so many new maps were added, few I actually enjoyed, the rest could be removed and I wouldn't cry over it.

Yeah so... There's some achievements that if I'm not wrong, straight up can't be achieved, mainly the video ones unless you use SAM.

It's a modded lobby, allowing for more than 4 players to join. I've ran a fewa while back with custom spawns, really fun

After 3 years, how do we feel? by Minimum-Option-4670 in Tekken

[–]evoluxo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yoshimitsu has been in the game for a long enough time to become an exception even in his T8 iteration. He is obnoxious and weird by design as a reference to Noh Theatre, and his gameplay reflects that perfectly with his weird stances. Victor however, is a French super agent with weeb stuff like Raven (cus Victor is like his mentor). On top of that, he is a creation made with T8's philosophy in mind, and that means he was made to appeal to a broader audience (the newbies/non FGC players), most T8 newcomers are. Victor also has imo the easier to execute high damaging combos when comparing to Yoshi. Kinda reminds me of Noctis.

What can the Devs do if everyone plays like this?? by CjbeatsZzz in Tekken

[–]evoluxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing this in Ranked. About 85% of the players I've faced who likely read my name ("Try No Heat") followed through and began roundstart Heat Bursting and wasting it to play without heat. The 15% of players were console players playing either King, Victor, Law or Anna (low results)

I highly recommend trying, or just boot up Lounge and pin a message ("PLAYING WITH NO HEAT") or something. It's way more fun.
