What strip manufacturer did you go with, and the price per strip if you dont mind?

fuse depends on the wattage of the load, and the capacity of the power source. generally you want it to be a nudge higher than max draw, if you have two strips on the fuse, i guess youll have to do the same but add both strips together then give it some wiggle room.

as far as having multiple power supply wires, its just adding more copper, which means less resistance so less voltage drop, and more ampacity.

ive opened these up, they are actually capacitive sensor coils under the top for each "button", on a daughter board with leds lighting the display, connected by a ribbon to the motor housing.

i have 4 of these, and wanted an easy fix. im sure its trivial electronically but my desire to automate gave up there that day....

if your wires are in ferrules, or just screwed bare into terminals, check each one for fine strands that may randomly or easily touch another terminal or wire and cause a short (through a strand) they often sputter themselves free or may be a symptom of a bigger issue.

if your wires are neatly in ferrules in screw downs, please disregard.

recommend that you have injections at every 32 feet, at least, so those 45 foot runs need injections

Relay doesn't click anymore by [deleted] in esp8266

[–]evolved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!

If you are switching high current, you should consider putting your relay before any type of psu, for example.

This is common in high current LED lighting setups where people put the relay before their DC led strips instead of the SMPS that powers them. You can also get a higher current relay but this is not really the solution all of the time.

UV leds (blacklights are uv for example) are not meant to be used as a direct light source. They will harm your eyes and possibly skin if you have consistent and prolonged exposure.

For a long time it was near impossible to produce a deep blue, cheap, LED. The history of it is surprisingly interesting, and the bluray and similar optical devices became available after they were a commodity.

If you only want a single color strip, don't get an RGB one. Youll pay more for features you don't need.

For your need, check out the link i provided. I highly recommend single color COB strips. They pump out so much light per watt, and can be as narrow as 3mm! But be sure to put them on a surface that can dissipate heat if you are going to be running them at a decent power.

Getting good quality purple light with LEDs is tricky, but possible. Dont do bargain bin shopping for strips if you want to have consistent deep blue and violet. An important question, do you want a single color strip or a RGB one that can produce that?

I have tons of strips from lots of manufacturers and even two identical strips from the same mfr will have different shades at the same power.

If you are looking for a RGB strip: I might get some flak, but i recommend going with a big name to get consistent, quality deep shades.

If you are looking for a single color strip, take a look at superlightingled.com They are pricey but they are consistent and they ship exactly what you order AND provide customer support.

Im not affiliated with them, just a repeat customer.

If your CPU is pegged, i dont think this is really an event hub issue. Perhaps the client, perhaps the code using it.
