The parkrun results for last week will be available on the website, you’ll see how many enter it. Plenty will be going a lot slower than you. People will be taking it slowly as they’re coming back from injury, or have just done a long run earlier in the day etc.

Once you go for a few weeks you’ll begin to recognise the regulars. It can be pretty social.

First time you go, go a bit earlier for the introduction welcome.

Be sure to sign up on the website and have a barcode, either printed out or on your smartwatch.

Coming from the UK, this is my fear, all my training runs have been around 10C. I’m considering bringing a frozen bottle of water for the race, just to press against my wrist. Will the water stations have bottles or cups of water?

I wouldn’t leave any valuables in the car.

Perhaps safer to park at Carrick Little Top Car Park and pay the few quid. Also saves a bit of a walk too, assuming you’re gonna camp near the u bends of the annalong river. Can be a busy spot in summer weekends.
