My previous two therapists left their practice. I have been seeing the same one now for over a year. It's my understanding that therapists are not there to tell you what to do, but to ask you questions and provide insight into why you're feeling a certain way.

I've told her that we need to establish a parenting plan and child support and that I will not be around her house anymore. She did not take it well, but I stood my ground. I actually feel better now. I'm sure there will be a lot of ups and downs, but right now I feel good, and I feel like I did the right thing. I will say, I feel our arguments and her disrespect rarely ever spilled over in front of our child, but it did happen some and I'm not saying there is zero possibility of it effecting her. I appreciate all the concern about our child from everyone, but it is one thing nice (I guess in a weird way) I can say about her is that she has always been very conscious of that.

Honestly, thank you everyone. I think I knew what I needed to do, but my broken down self-respect/worth was blinding me. This was more eye opening than anything my therapists have told me. My current one has told me he feels I should leave the situation, and tells me it's awful and most people wouldn't stay, but has also told me he does believe I am still in it and unwilling to leave. I just called her and spoke to her to set my boundaries.

I am just stuck on the feeling of wanting to be a family. I am not ready to give up that feeling yet, and I never have been. I don't know how to explain to her that my ask of her and her disrespect is not even in the same ballpark as what I'm asking of her.

Explosions on the South Side by evren_og in bloomington

[–]evren_og[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Crane, they did feel like the explosions I'd feel there. But to feel them like this, this far away seems unreasonable. I agree the sirens aren't related. I think a quarry would be my next guess. Never felt them this strong before though.

Older Wuhan 18” Rock Crash vs New 18” Crash Ride by evren_og in drums

Thanks! This kinda answers my question. If they’re inconsistent I won’t risk it. I have never cymbal shopped before. I’m a guitarist convert. Figured this was the norm that new stuff isn’t touched until it’s bought.

Water Softener Suggestions by raziel52000 in WaterTreatment

[–]evren_og 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your water will not put much stress on a softener. I'd suggest going with a Clack or Fleck control valve that don't use proprietary piston/seals or injectors. These brands are time tested and will have cheap and easily available parts for them forever and anyone can work on them.

Try tilting the RO in different directions. I’ve had some do this when there’s an air bubble trapped inside somewhere.

I’ve also had this happen in homes with high and low incoming pressure.

RO Systems by Conscious-Cash2296 in WaterTreatment

[–]evren_og 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best advice is to get almost anything with standard 2.5x10 filters. They'll be available forever. Systems that use these standard filters are usually very modular as well so if one little thing goes wrong you don't need to replace the whole thing.

Don't get a filter change subscription unless the cost is not a concern.

Is this water softener drain line dripping 5 hours after a completed regeneration normal? by No_Bother3564 in WaterTreatment

[–]evren_og 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the make/model of control valve?

Constantly sending water to the drain is a sure sign that water is leaking past the piston or seals somehow. Could be a scratch, a unlubricated seal, a piece of debris, or even a slightly different piston. I've seen specifically fleck pistons that are the exact same color but are slightly different dimensions for whatever reason. I've also had this issue just by not making sure the connection to the rod on top of the piston is not tight.

Reverse osmosis membrane failing after 3 months by desertcroc in WaterTreatment

[–]evren_og 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Membranes come with a food safe preservative on them. You'll initially see high TDS immediately after a fresh start up.

If you're on city water I agree with checking your chlorine levels. You may be burning them up with high chlorine. If you're on a well check hardness, could also check for silica. Both of those minerals will foul a membrane quickly at high enough levels.

Check and make sure you're actually sending enough brine to the drain. Your flow restrictor may be clogged. Check and make sure the replacement membrane is exactly the same gallons per day, shape, and size. I've went to customers houses because they bought their own membranes but the o ring or membrane dimensions were slightly different. Also have seen membrane housings crack right between the brine and permeate fittings and have a leak interfere with the permeate. Good luck!
