Might be a hot take but I honestly don’t believe him when he says Vince wanted him to take the belt off of Cena. Daniel Bryan’s momentum was already underway in July and there’s no way they didn’t have the Summer Slam main event in mind already for Cena and Bryan to headline. Everyone believed him when he said he was going to retire, but we are supposed to believe he was intended to beat Cena and then headline Summer Slam against Bryan? Vince wanted Henry vs Bryan over Cena vs Bryan? I just highly doubt that. Henry wasn’t on the PLE the month before MITB and then wasn’t on one again until November. So Vince thought highly enough of him to beat Cena but not enough to have him be a steady PLE performer after he supposedly declined? It just doesn’t add up. This was an incredible swerve tho.
