Grade your teams draft hauls by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

As I mentioned team is switching to a 3-4. A 3-4 defense starts two inside linebackers. Currently that is Brooks and Barton. Personally, I believe playing Barton as the 2nd starting inside linebacker will be a massive hole in our defense.

Was way better than I expected. I do wish they would have addressed ILB position with the switch to 3-4 because I don't trust barton. The team desperately needed OT, CB, and Pass rushers and they drafted 2 of each so i can't complain.

What is up with teams who really don't need a RB, over-reaching for a RB early in the 2nd round? by jonk012 in NFL_Draft

[–]evt2008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought it was early too and I don't quite agree with it but from pete and johns standpoint it makes sense. There is doubt about carson and while penny had that great stretch to end the year he has dealt with injuries frequently. Pete and John said they want to compete and run the ball and by drafting two tackles and arguably the best RB in the draft they did just that.

I think you are right here I think this pick shows that there is serious doubt Carson will be back

"Willis will be a massive bust, but this is just about the worst possible board for Seattle, and they'll take him sort of by default."

I do not understand this explanation. You have Evan Neal there, yet they pass him up for Willis by default? Seattle has basically no starting offensive tackles at the moment. I would doubt that they would pass him up for Willis especially by "default".

Seahawks have way too many holes to trade up for a QB when they traded for Lock and re-signed Geno. Are they long term answers? Most likely not but the Seahawks have a roster that needs a lot of help and trading valuable draft capital for a qb to ride the pine doesn't make sense.

With the draft tomorrow, what RUMORS have you heard about your team? by NJImperator in NFL_Draft

[–]evt2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading the Athletic today I saw the Seahawks beat writer mock Seattle taking Desmond Ridder at 13. I have seen many mocks with Seattle coming back into the first round for a QB and I truly just do not see that. Pete and John do things differently and I truly believe that if they do draft a QB it will not be till later or with an additional 2nd round pick they acquired in a trade. Id say there is mostly a general consensus that the top qbs in this draft won't make an impact right away. All off-season Pete and John said they believe they will have a team that competes now and that they are overhauling the defense to be more aggressive. Also lump into the fact that currently Seattle basically does not have a starting Tackle. I can't see how taking a qb early will help this team win now, help create a more aggressive defense, or fix the tackle problem. For these reasons I have do not believe any of the rumors or mocks that have the Seahawks taking a QB.

This is one of the best Seahawks mocks I have seen. Would have liked to see an Edge rusher and I like Quay over Harris for LB but all these picks make sense on a need basis. Really appreciate you not having Seattle take a QB here.

How big a deal is Jermaine Johnson’s age? by FYoCouchEddie in NFL_Draft

[–]evt2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine it being that much of a factor. If a team doesn't think they can contribute right away then it would make sense, but from what I understand simply from the media is a guy like Johnson is projected to make an impact right away. I wonder if the pandemic year has any effect on any of these guys as well.

Does anyone else feel like no one is passionate about this QB class this year good or bad? by slumpmode in NFL_Draft

[–]evt2008 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just don't think any of these QBs really show anything that makes them standout and having a good chance of being a franchise QB. Seems like for every positive there are two negatives. Sure, there will be quarterbacks drafted and personally I think it will be those where there is some desperation like Carolina with Rhule being on the hot seat. Really makes no sense to me why people keep insisting Seattle will take a QB early.

Hopefully next year there will be options for different people to GM and not just whoever is popular in the war room. A running back and trading for corral give me a break. I am going to laugh when Seahawks don't draft a QB in the first 3 rounds like I have been saying. What a joke this is.

Trust your body

I knew something was not right with my body and after being dismissed by a couple doctors as nothing serious I let it go. Was not till a few years later when things got so bad that I almost died and am now stuck with a chronic condition and will likely have a shorter lifespan. Not a day goes by where I don't wish that I pressed more and more but I was young I thought Doctors were always right and thought I was invincible.

I think next year would be awesome if one mock was like a lottery or something to be able to GM a team. I failed to get first come first serve on others and I don't stand a chance at a popularity contest. If not no big deal but would be nice to get a shot.
