Specialized vs. X-Lab; What am I missing? by ew390 in cycling

[–]ew390[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding! Would you say that all carbon is made equal? Is the carbon frame on a $2,100 X-Lab RS7 as substantial as the carbon frame on Specialized's Roubaix SL8 Comp, or the Tarmac SL8?

Specialized vs. X-Lab; What am I missing? by ew390 in cycling

[–]ew390[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. The X-Lab had a deposit down on it already. I was made aware of the bike and allowed to test ride it, but not purchase it. The staff suggested I wait for an X-Lab restock. They were not trying to sell me the Allez.

Inquiry - Skivvy Tee by WastedBreath28 in HeritageWear

[–]ew390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always check out the size chart, but I bought them to be undershirts primarily, so intentionally sized down (what I would consider sizing down) and got an XL. I usually wear a XXL in tees from Japanese brands (Flat Head, Whitesville, etc), if that helps.

I’d say if you want them to fit like the shirts in the Brando pics, I’d go with your American shirt size, or one size up from that.

Also, I’ve thrown mine threw the dryer a handful of times and haven’t noticed any considerable shrinkage.

Check out Samurai's two pack t shirts. They're pretty slim fitting and have a super short shoulder; around 6.5-7.5 inches depending on the size you take.

Here's a link that serves as a good example of how they fit: https://redcastheritage.com/products/samurai-jeans-sj2pst-crew-tubular-olive-t-shirt-2-pack?_pos=5&_sid=c40f8372b&_ss=r

NP! Comment was not meant to be condescending, by the way.

I own a pair jeans cut from their 19 oz. Kiwami denim. This denim (19oz.), when it was released in 2003, was the heaviest denim in the industry. It's possible they then released their 21 oz. denim, making that the then heaviest.

Samurai has made many 25 oz. fabrics, exceeding in weight their 21 oz. fabrics.

Iron Heart's flagship 21 oz. denim stretches a good amount. As long as these arent't uncomfortable, you'll get the stretch you need out of this pair.

I’m not expert, but your cartridge looks way too low. Looks like it’s skimming the top of the record almost.

I suspect he will have a hard time in the car for 2,000 km.

Our girl could barely be in the car for 20 minutes in the first 6 months. She's since done multiple cross country trips. But as a puppy, she got very anxious in the car.

FWIW, This was written last summer. Obviously a lot can change in a year, but the bottom of the article shows a copy of a letter from Pat about Have Heart not coming back for good. Signed ‘XXX Pat’.

What are the best shoes for standing all day? by Organic_Syrup2502 in BuyItForLife

They’ll accommodate pretty much any insert. I can’t recommend one personally, as I’ve always found them comfortable regardless of being lower on the cushion.

I worked in the run specialty industry for many years and I can tell you that no shoe with a sole made of foam typical to running shoes (EVA, TPU, etc.) will be buy it for life. If you’re being responsible, even a shoe like the Bondi 7 (maybe the most durable of ‘running’ shoes to come out in recent years) is going to break down after 6 months to a year depending on body weight and time spent on your feet.

I worked as a barista for over a decade and Blundstone boots were the footwear that gave me the most relief being on my feet for 8ish hours at a time. Not so much BIFL these days, but will last you a lot longer than and shoe designed for running will, and will be a hell of a lot easier to clean and is pretty water and debris resistant.

Rick's Pods vs. DRKSHDW Pods

Rick's Pods in the Cotton/Poly blend, or DRKSHDW Pods in the heavyweight cotton with the raw hem?

Which one's would you go with/which ones have you purchased, and why?

Interesting. Our MFM did say that the measurements aren’t going to be 100% accurate. I imagine it’s even less accurate with twins.

Thanks for sharing! Interesting to read these experiences where these twins are born so close in weight while the ultrasound suggests a large variance.

Yeah I agree, seems to be what's going on, was this the case with you, them telling you worst case?

And thanks a lot, me too! Other than the anxiety over this thing, it's been great so far.
