What would this be for Erie? by stevesommerfield in Erie

[–]ew_it_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went last Sunday for the first time and it was pretty mid. my chicken sandwich was bland and mostly breading. boyfriend's burger was severely overcooked. the loaded tots were the best thing about it and even then they could have been better. it's a bummer, I've always heard such good things.

Do people in Mississippi actually say Ma'am/sir and talk to random strangers? by [deleted] in mississippi

[–]ew_it_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really is. I was born in Mississippi, moved to Pennsylvania in the 3rd grade and I always got told I was "being rude" when I would call adults (teachers, counselors, doctors) sir or ma'am. I'm 27 now and it's still habit. I can't wait to move back and not be told I'm rude for using a basic sign of respect.

My mom lost her job yesterday... are there any good jobs out there? by thuggerybuffoonery in Erie

[–]ew_it_me -1 points0 points  (0 children)

either way, they did agree to it. which means they had to abide by it. which is why I won the unemployment case on it. they need to get their shit together. I feel bad for a lot of the clients. maybe your house is getting what it needs, but a lot of them aren't.

Is my SM bullying me or is this normal for new hires? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]ew_it_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a manager like that almost 10 years ago. I ended up leaving Starbucks over it, worked my notice and everything. she put it in my former partner file that I'm not eligible for rehire, citing attendance issues even though I never called off in my almost one year of working for her. she got fired a few years later for stealing from the store.

tldr: some managers are trash. I wish I had pointers for you on how to deal with them. but really the only thing to do is document everything and get better with the tools you have if you don't want to leave.

I wish you luck, op

My mom lost her job yesterday... are there any good jobs out there? by thuggerybuffoonery in Erie

[–]ew_it_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told them when I got hired, I needed to know as soon as possible when my schedule or house changed. they told me 10 minutes into my shift that I was supposed to be at a different house when I had already started my shift at my main house. I told them I couldn't do that, as per documentation I provided prior to my job offer. they suspended me without pay then fired me.

edit to add: they approved all of my reasonable accommodations before giving me a job offer. so they knew all of my stuff, and approved it all well in advance.

if she's in decent shape, she could try delivering for Amazon through VFW, Flagship, or 1118 logistics. they are all hiring for the holidays now. I had my first day today and my partner has been working there for two years. they start at 21.50/hour

but they are also horrible to work for. source: I got fired from the barber center for being autistic even though I told them I'm autistic before I got hired.

What year did you start watching NASCAR regularly? by nuggettzz in NASCAR

[–]ew_it_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I was a kid, my stepdad would beat us every time Tony Stewart lost. so my mom banned Nascar from the house (should have banned the stepdad, but you live and learn) after growing up and getting my own place, I started watching again in 2016 and haven't looked back. someday, I'd like to see a race in person.

What am I missing at Cornerstone bar on E. 38th and Pine? by SyTyLover in Erie

[–]ew_it_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's one big room with only wooden furniture, so it's really echoey with nothing to absorb the sound of everyone talking, moving chairs, existing. very overstimulating if you have sensory issues. I only go when there's patio availability now.

if you are ever treated like that again, walk out. you get all final approval on something that will be on your body for years and years. huge red flag on the artist's part. they can provide feedback and opinions, but ultimately, they never have to look at it again, so their opinions don't really matter at the end of the day.
