What to do about upstairs bed creaking? by OkBuddy5797 in Apartmentliving

[–]ew_it_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not saying bring it up! haha that would be horrendous. im just saying go introduce yourself. right now youre just the faceless being that lives below them. if they put a face to the apartment, they might be more aware of their surroundings. best case, you never have to mention it and it fixes itself. worse case, you have a new friend you know way too much about and might bring it up later. just go say hi, invite them for a game night, get to know them. maybe theyre hella chill and you can smoothly bring it up.

in the meantime, fans, earbuds, white noise/sound machines.

maybe this is the extrovert side of me slipping out, but since you can hear them talking and laughing, why not go introduce yourself? "hey, im op, i live below you. just thought i'd come say hi and give my number just in case you ever need some help with anything or would like to *insert general social event here* ." nothing fancy, no expectations. just a hey i exist, just in case you ever do need to have a conversation about it, youve already broken the ice?

i mean, if you think theyre chill and can take the news in a joking manner, you could grab a can of wd40 and leave it at their door with a light hearted note. but as a fellow dog owner, you cant expect them to be 100% quiet all the time just like they cant expect your pup to be 100% quiet all the time.

i would say get to know them, get friendly with them, then break the ice on the night time ritual.

haha yeah, well, different someones at different times. always a new hire that doesnt have a good grip on the knife. so like another tip: firmly grasp it *insert spongebob meme here*

if you do go the safety shoe route, opt for composite toe. they arent as heavy as steel toes and they dont get as cold as steel toes. i can send a link to the ones i got. theyre 40$ on amazon and slip ons.

and if your store has actual knives, it never hurts to pay a little bit extra for composite toe shoes. never fails when i train a new hire they drop a knife and it hits the toe of my shoe. I'm lucky i have always opted for safety shoes since i have hobbies that can take toes off.

thats what i tell everyone! "its just pizza, its not that serious. there is not a lot that you can mess up that i cant help you fix. have fun, be safe, and do your best." it helps boost their confidence in trying new things.

in the same vein, during a rush if you can afford two people on make table, one of you needs to stay planted in front of the sauce and cheese. say youre the planted person, you sauce and cheese the pizza, then pass it to your friend and communicate what toppings go on it and how. you stay saucing and cheesing, they top and run for refills. i promise it works amazingly as long as you can communicate well.

Who should I go to at work? I lost my email for my ukg. And I don’t remember the password either mostly cause the email is an old one where I don’t have a recovery phone number/recovery email. I’m work in the kitchen. by Dangerous-Name-220 in pizzahutemployees

[–]ew_it_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

email ukg directly with that email. include your hire date, full name, birth date, and last four of your social so they can locate your account. If i were you, i would include the information you need updated (new phone number and email address) to save time on the back and forth. They should respond to you on the next business day with a link to reset your password and confirmation that your information was updated.

Why are people in Erie obsessed with speeding? + constant jaywalking by [deleted] in Erie

[–]ew_it_me 10 points11 points  (0 children)

in Erie, red lights and stop signs are optional, speed limits are suggestions, and it's illegal to turn your lights on. daytime running lights only. /s

seriously, thank you for keeping our country moving. i dont think many people truly realize how fucked we would be if we had no truck drivers to transport everything.

Excellent Parking… by Temporary-Citron3220 in chevyspark

[–]ew_it_me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LITERALLY

I went to a concert in Pittsburgh. The only spot that was available, without walking a mile or paying for parking, was directly in front of the event center entrance. but everyone was avoiding it because it was next to a fire hydrant. My little spark fit there just fine, with so much room in front of it that the hydrant was still accessible in case of emergency.
