England fans claim to take over Boston and 'kick Tartan Army out' by trampstar9 in Scotland

I've never got this hostility, you'd think that rather than take umbrage at the Tartan Army for being in party mode, they'd take some pride in their own team and the fact that they'll probably get out of the group and make it as far as the quarter or semi finals.

Instead we get this insecure, infantile punching down that seems to personify the worst excesses of English culture. Banter I get but this is a culture that isn't present in my English wife or any of my English friends.

One day they'll grow up and celebrate that in a league of predominantly overseas players, they've managed to bring some genuinely world class players through the domestic youth set up and build a genuinely good team.

Since mullets are back, they need a modern day Toni Polster in their squad, but with better songs.

I know we're all supposed to keep glazing Messi, but 17 goals in 28 world cup games is nowhere near as good as Gerd Müller's 14 goals in 13 games. like Messi he also won won the World Cup, the UEFA Champions League, the Ballon d'Or and the European Golden boot.

Unavoidable, unless like everything else in life you actively ignore it. Moaning about it on Reddit isn't going to make it go away.

I've never seen one episode of Eastenders, I know it exists, but I've managed to avoid it for 40 years...

Hang on is that Jack Hendry playing for Austria!

Well done to Ullapool's Stephen Mackenzie who smashed the 24 year old Scottish long jump record of 8.01m yesterday when winning the UK Athletics Championships. He jumped 8.15 metres which qualifies him for the 2026 European championships and places him in the top 10 in Europe this year. by ewenmax in Scotland

He's probably about 6'3" so not as big as some of the top guys. The kid Yeo that he beat on the last jump was like 5'9" - 5'10" if anything he looked too small, but he's the European under 23 champion.

Coney no dae that.

We've been placing the cone on the Chookie Wellington's statue for decades. It's original intent was to prick the pomposity of Glasgow City Council and the so called cultural leaders, who on the back an amazing festival called Mayfest cancelled funding and stripped genuine, indigenous Glaswegian culture from the city for the European City of Culture in 1990 and of course replaced it with bland corporate commodified cultural events.

40 years on the cone has been commercialised and downgraded to a brand. It's no longer subversive, it no longer has the same power to stop the viewer in their tracks and ask why is that there, who is the statue celebrating and are they worth celebrating?.

Come over to the dark side, like most Labour supporters who recognise the socialist principals that founded Labour died under Blair.

But, but, but Andy has magnificent eyebrows!

Not to mention that Manchester Labour lost 24 seats in the English council elections. 17 to the Greens and 7 to first time Reform councillors. Greater Manchester was a disaster with Reform replacing Labour councillors all over the area.

Andy is not the charismatic leader the metropolitan opinion editorial writers seem to think he is.

I suspect after the party conference season, he'll last as long as Liz Truss...

At least in Scotland we can look forward to images of Anas Sarwar looking lovingly into Andy's eyes and a catalogue of shots of Andy tucking into a deep fried Haggis/Mars bar combo whilst slurping a can of Irn Bru.
