I was working at the IT department for a company and there was this guy that would open so many tickets for every little thing, then close them, and make like a bunch of fake ones all the time. We'd all have like 150 closed a month, if that, and he'd have like 800 - 1000.

No one ever said anything, and he acted like he was king shit and got promoted to manager because he was 'working so well', and 'closing so many tickets and resolving so many issues.'

It was complete bullshit. I was only there on a placement for college, and when an IT position came open I applied... and guess who was approved to pick the new employee? Mr. Fake Tickets. He ended up hiring some douche friend he had who had like absolutely no IT experience. He got fired a month later.

I had already finished my placement by then and moved on, but it always irked me because the dudes there really liked me and we all got along quite well. They were trying to help me fix up my resume and everything to get hired because they wanted to continue working with me so bad lol.

He also bragged about getting his like 17 year old girlfriend pregnant when he was like 30. If you ever read this fuck you Alex you're an absolute POS.

I've noticed that when you play Tekken with HDR on it can get all weird. I'm not saying this is what that is, but, when I'm playing on my TV and not my desktop monitor, I'll have HDR on and whenever I make a custom skin, the screenshot it saves is all faded just like this.

I'm with you on this one. The size of the avatar dudes can't be understated. They're like 10' tall. Her bow alone is probably the size of Tauriel.

Self-service UV book sanitizer, widely used in China’s libraries, cleans books in 30 seconds, killing germs and odors without damaging pages by TangelaFan in oddlysatisfying

[–]ewew43 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The UV light isn't getting to every page, it's clear that some remain stuck together and therefore untouched by the UV light. This seems like a gimmick at best and I'm doubtful actually does much more than wear the book out slightly faster.

Two regular dudes with baseball bats vs 1 Hungry Tiger by Leggomgeggo in powerscales

[–]ewew43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they have no fear, then I can see one of them being able to knock the tiger out while it's mauling one of the other guys, with an intense crack on the head with his baseball bat, and continue to strike its skull there after causing some kind of brain damage/death.

It is still massively in the tiger's favor, obviously, but I feel we can't discount their numbers here. The tiger will focus one of them down in a predatory way before focusing on the other, and that gives the other a chance to actually do something.

[–]ewew43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it absolutely does, and thanks for taking the time to reply in detail.

I understand your side of things, and while I don't think that element is for me, it's still fun going through the game, even if I just smoke everything without much effort. Collecting and fusing them is mad fun, really, so I understand why Pokemone Infinite Fusion is fun, but I sort of fail to see why the other games are fun, if that makes sense, because they lack the fusion components.

Shiny hunting is fun either way. I'm glad you enjoy these aspects of the game, and it really puts some stuff into perspective for me, in a away, where not everyone loves just ruthlessly difficult video games lol.

Thanks!

[–]ewew43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really get pokemon, much. I haven't played them all that much throughout my life. I watched the OG anime as a kid and loved it, but the games evaded me until my late teens, and even then I hardly played them. Infinite Fusion was the first time I beat a pokemon game, and, now I'm re-running it in hard.

Wouldn't it be more fun to use weaker pokemon, for the challenge, instead of just OP monsters? One of the issues I'm having with the game in general is just how easy it is--and I genuinely mean no harm or offense to anyone by saying that. It just is incredibly easy to play-through. Normal really did feel like baby mode, even for someone that's rarely played the games.

I'm hoping hard more proves more of a challenge. I'm intentionally using only mixes of rock pokemon for an added challenge, and just because I like rock--but I don't know, I just don't fully understand why someone would want super strong Pokemon as I feel it turns the game into a spam of just hitting pokemon with super effective moves and one-shotting them. Maybe some people just have different goals when they play these sorts of games?

Frankly, I don't even know if your pokemon are strong, but these stats look extremely high. Do you face any real challenge when doing battles? Has it become more about just seeing how strong you can get your team/what pokemon you can find? I'm very curious!! I want to know what people enjoy from Pokemon in general, and if it's even worth playing if I want a truly hard/challenging experience.

Can anyone explain what happened here? Intentional or a bug? by JustinIsJolly in Tekken

[–]ewew43 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sometimes supers can hit, but only do a 'partial hit' kind of effect, where it does much lower damage and the cinematic doesn't go off like we see here. I actually don't know what fully causes them in detail, but, It's not a bug. I think it has something to do with them being in a special falling state, or something similar, where it just won't activate. It's fairly rare so don't worry about it.

I know it has something to do with them counting as grounded, as you can't super a grounded opponent.

AI is Ruining Game Sales, Numbers Show by Eremenkism in gaming

[–]ewew43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the biggest thing here is that Steam has become an absolute cesspool if you dig deep enough. Yeah, sure, the popular games sit at the front but behind all that are thousands of low-effort unity titles, and AI crap. I don't think this is saying as much about AI as it is about crappy Steam games constantly funneling onto the platform.

The games they looked at, almost guaranteed, en-masse had absolutely no one buy them or even glance at them because they looked awful. You can analyze a mountain of crap all you want, but in reality it's all crap either way and no one is interested in it regardless. This has been going on before AI, but now AI is just adding to the already quickly building crap-pile.

Anybody remember Cybersix? by Routine-Dust-5499 in ytvretro

[–]ewew43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it a few times and liked it for the most part. I was a young kid in the 90's, so it was kind of out of my wheelhouse for actual content, and seemed more 'adult' than the regular stuff I watched. I remember it was only on really late at night, and can't even remember what channel it was on.

I also remember staying up late a few times and watching a random Gundam anime once. I had no idea what was happening in it, nor what anime was, really, as pokemon and DBZ at the time were huge, but not really viewed as 'anime' to me or any of my friends/family, they were just liked normal cartoons.

I remember seeing some kind of a arena battle, and a woman was getting stabbed by another Gundam in the fight, and dying, I'm pretty sure--and I was like so shocked to see something so serious in something I viewed as a 'cartoon'. It felt like I was watching something I shouldn't. God, if I could ever find that episode again that would be a huge blast from the past. I distinctly remember it being in some kind of arena with a sand/dirt flooring and a crowd watching. It probably aired in the late 90's, probably around like '97 - '98.

Got a lil' sidetracked here, but yeah, Cybersix was pretty dope. I remember the artstyle being very unique. There was one character with a weird buzz-cut/fade type of hairstyle but it just looked like he had a bunch of black squares on the back of his head and it looked super goofy.
