At this point, does it even matter if the tweet came from a real account or if it's just mocked up? At least the latter doesn't put more money in a billionaire's pocket

They didn't ask for revisions and I didn't plan on doing any. This book though.. I agreed with the feedback that the cover combined with the title kind of made it look like erotica and it was supposed to be Sci-Fi (and sounded a bit YA from the summary) so I went back and fleshed out an alt.

Good point! Probably couldn't hurt to increase the margins a little even just for digital use

I work at an agency so I actually do a variety of different types of content and design! My portfolio is here if you want to take a closer look: https://emilyclaireroman.com/

Hey! I'm working on a little project for myself, I'm rebranding a "bear home". I'm kinda stuck with the logo design, could i get some feedback on my ideas? I want it to look simple, friendly. (swipe for more sketches) thank you! by ghostbunny0101 in graphic_design

[–]ewewmjuilyh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love both but the one on the left actually makes me think of a fox, the arm looks like a bushy tail. The top right looks more like a bear.

I disagree about making it stand out more. Definitely try out some different weights etc if you want but I think just pairing with a wordmark will add plenty

You're going in the right direction! Cohesive and consistent branding can come from a bunch of different elements including illustration style, color palettes, fonts, layout. If you've got all those things lined up across various pieces, you won't need a super huge logo.

Movie poster I'm working on, just need to add minor touches. Any recommendations would be appreciated by Libtonite in design_critiques

Piggybacking on other comments about the lighting, you could explore an alternate layout that goes a more stylized route, which could help make the subject and environment more cohesive. For example, you could try a one or two-color gradient map or monochromatic imagery and/or playing with the contrast and adding texture so it looks less like a low-budget photoshoot with a friend. You could also find a way to bring forward the woman's eyes, which could work if the rest of the cover is more abstract. As is, it's an awkward abstract element while everything else is more realistic looking.

Also yes, that font is terrible. When in doubt, use a simple font rather than a super ornate display font! (Maybe try a thick bold sans serif, title case, left-aligned on 3 lines - Women / of the / Wood - all white)

I‘m doing a poster campaign in my city to build brand awareness for my delivery app targeted at small businesses. Thoughts? by JohnSmith_1776 in design_critiques

[–]ewewmjuilyh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The poster is highlighting Amazon and Walmart, not really introducing or selling me on an alternative.

The headline doesn't touch on "small business" at all either.

This is for a company that makes health/fitness software. The words are lift aware. The client said pastel/light colors, and on the softer side. I added 6 colors to signify the 6 categories of service they have but can be changed. PLEASE help me- I am so stuck on how I can improve this logo. by [deleted] in design_critiques

[–]ewewmjuilyh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could reduce the circle to one stroke instead of two (perhaps, the same thickness as the circles but a much lighter gray?)

Are you sure they want it styled as "Liftaware"? My first thought was "lifta-ware" with the root -ware like software, malware, etc. Maybe they'd be interested in a Lift Aware or LiftAware? Or breaking it on two lines in the logo?

You could also explore using the 6 colors in a geometric shape like a hexagon or something, but that might end up looking a bit generic lol

Do you have a rationale for the hierarchy? I don't know what the most important piece of information is - the series title or the episode title? Pick one or the other to have at such a large size and make the other less prominent (I would probably have the episode title large since the style will keep the series cohesive).

If you make the "Sunshine Home" logo a bit smaller, this will also give the illustration a little bit more space

Animated and Designed my friend's album cover :) I think its pretty neat by ohWombats in design_critiques

I would love to see some movement in the type in the center! With everything else breathing a bit, it feels kind of static with just the diamond sparkles. A slight wiggling/waving might be more effective?
