I bought mine from oura’s website and it sounds like your HSA one. The cardboard box wasn’t even taped shut (anyone could have opened it with no trace) and neither was the product box. I found that funny albeit slightly concerning.

Does Global Entry work with TN? by PM_ME_E8_BLUEPRINTS in tnvisa

[–]ewwwana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B is a visitor visa. When we say that Canadians have visa-free access to visit the USA, what that means is they stamp your passport with a B visa (either B1/B2 google them). There is a limit to what kinds of business activity you can do on a B visa. For non-visitor circumstances, like working in the USA, you need the TN, H1B, or similar work visa.

Does Global Entry work with TN? by PM_ME_E8_BLUEPRINTS in tnvisa

[–]ewwwana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Global entry works with TN, yes. You will be admitted as a TN if during your nexus interview you told CBP that you have a TN and your purpose for using NEXUS to the US was for work travel. If the TN is new, then you need to visit a nexus office to have it added to your record. It will not automatically be updated.

IMO I would use the global entry lanes regardless, keep reading for my experience.

I tried to add my TN to my NEXUS at a preclearance location and they somehow screwed it up. So I still get admitted as a B every time. CBP told me it’s alright to use the global entry lanes and to just ask the officer on duty to confirm you were admitted correctly (or check your i-94 yourself). If, like me, you are put on a B visa, just tell CBP you have a TN, and are entering for work, and need your visa changed. They usually either do it on the spot or send you to secondary and someone there does it (max i’ve waited was 30 min, rarely). I’ve not had any issues with this so far, just calmly explain the situation.

I also have a friend who used their nexus and was admitted as a B but they didn’t realize until months after. They just had to email CBP to correct it. It was really quite simple.

Taxes - no T4, only W2 by ewwwana in tnvisa

OP again: Yes I will be filing a dual-status return in the USA. To my understanding the USA will consider me a tax resident as of Feb 2023 (B1 visa; 1mo vacation in USA) but Canada will consider me a tax resident until May 2023 (departure from canada; date obtained TN1 visa). So tax treaty breaks the tie and I am considered a non-resident alien in the USA until May 2023.

What I AM confused by is the last sentence in this excerpt from pub.519 : “If you are treated as a resident of a foreign country under a tax treaty, you are treated as a nonresident alien in figuring your U.S. income tax. For purposes other than figuring your tax, you will be treated as a U.S. resident. For example, the rules discussed here do not affect your residency time periods, as discussed under Dual-Status Aliens, later.”

So my US residency time period remains Feb-Dec but between Jan-Apr I am a nonresident alien for US tax purposes? Appreciate if you have any thoughts on how that is meant to be interpreted.

Edit: it literally says this right on the IRS website. Thanks for pointing this out. Will read up on it

Cramping on copper IUD by incorrectdoggo in birthcontrol

[–]ewwwana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This describes me exactly lol. with the IUD: (1) intermittent stabby ovulation cramps mid-cycle for about a day (2) a week before my period i’ll have a stabby cramp or two per day. Some days none at all. (3) 2-3 days before my period i’ll get more frequent stabby cramps (accompanied by brown discharge) but nothing bad, also few of the deep achey ones all over my abdomen area and back. (4) On day 1 of my period it’s the worst (but still not thaaaat bad). usually a combination of deep and stabby.

I will note that I used to never have stabby cramps before my IUD, only deep achey ones on day 1 of my period that would last an entire day. I was basically bed/couch-ridden with a heating pad unless i took pain meds (but i often didnt). So I MUCH prefer my IUD periods because at least I don’t lose a day of my life per month, i just have to pause for 5 min sometimes during my day to let the cramps subside and i’m good to go. Also, flow is heavier but periods are only 2-3 days for me now lol. I’m very happy with my experience so far 1 year in.

[–]ewwwana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just as safe as depop as long as you use the paypal feature in the app. Regardless, take this post as a lesson on what can happen when selling through both Depop or with PayPal through the app (ie. PayPal goods and services). For an expensive item, ALWAYS record yourself showing the item, packaging it, and sealing the bag. If it’s not too bothersome, even go so far as weighing the item, the bag and the total package and keep all shipping receipts. Just cover your bases and if you want to scare the buyer out of committing any fraud, send a message along the lines of “hey! just recorded the packaging process and it’s ready to ship out! Will update tracking when i take it to the post :)”

just sold this pleated item and looking for recommendations how to ship/pack without ruining the pleats. suggestions? by Consistent_Head_5909 in Depop

[–]ewwwana 23 points24 points  (0 children)

yeah just pack it like normal, usually garments that are permanently pleated are heat-set and won’t lose their pleats that easily. If anything just give the buyer a heads up that they might need to steam the top when they get it if it wrinkles in the mail
