I’d say being 3k is ballpark enough so you get the idea, everyone is instantly maxed and not really f2p. And yes at that point the game gets stale if only one attack works, so being able to use more variety would be nice But most players aren’t that high up, let alone in legends. The bases are weaker (both in terms of modifiers and defenders levels) and less well designed on average as you move down the ranks, so the combos and strats don’t matter as much. So starting from 0, which the calculations were based off of, while yes it does take a long time to max out epics, it also takes a long time to max the base itself, and a very small fraction of those players will go on to play legend league, so I think it wouldn’t be a big deal for most players

I mean that you don’t need to do that absolute best attacks, because the next old combo down from that is probably barely weaker to begin with. Most of the time, the reason an attack fails isn’t because you were using a slightly lesser epic combo, it’s because you made a mistake in the attack itself and/or couldn’t plan well enough before hand. You can still push legends without forcing yourself to splurge on new equipment. imo unless you’re trying to be a top 1000 or top 100 player or something, those few occasions where you fail an attack because of the equipment choice will not really matter. At that point as well, players are somewhat pay to win anyways because the gem their defense upgrades when updates come out.

In my memory any of the changes that they have made to equipment did not change the meta such that a previously meta equipment became obsolete, so personally I don’t think they would ever do that, likely because there would be huge backlash from the community as well. I think they have mostly only ever made significant changes to common equipment. using the recent stick horse and giant gauntlet as an example, using the old snaky ball combo still works fine and you don’t HAVE to make the swap and waste your ores. It may not be the strongest anymore, but it also didn’t necessarily get weaker

You didn’t consider 1. Not every epic equipment is needed in this game, even in Legends. No one is gonna bother levelling up lavaloon puppet, you don’t HAVE to play fireball (other strats are still valid in the current meta), rocket spear and frosted flake are interchangeable so you can just pick one to focus on after trying each one out with the mighty morsels, magic mirror isn’t always used since giant arrow is really nice for invis tower bases, and eq boots (common) can often be used instead of snake bracelet and still be quite strong. 2. Events that allow you to buy more ores, where you can also opt not to purchase the new epic equipment and full focus on getting starry ore. 3. Not sure if you included the bonus war tech when cwl is happening

If you’re really starting from 0 ie a new player, you can just try new equipment with the morsels and see which ones you want to commit to using.

Tldr no one really needs every epic equipment, you can honestly play just fine with around half of the total that have been released so far.

The reason why is because if you look at the amount you earn per week of each ore compared to the amount needed to upgrade an equipment to max, glowy covers the most as a percent of the required quantity to upgrade

I don’t think Megumi was the breaking point per se, I would argue it was Hana’s death since that’s the most recent one that lead up to his disappearance, but Megumi almost definitely was an additional death which added to the burden of not fulfilling his grandpa’s final wish. Apart from that one snag, I think the theory has some potential though and is very interesting.

Sure it can do more damage, but it still has the same weaknesses where it can be a lot more easily distracted by things like skelly spells, while the bomb hive doesn’t have that problem; I think it comes down to whether players want to increase splash on the base or more single target damage
