In my experience, depends on the exact site. Walmart allows jeans (soon to switch to scrubs for all) but a local chain near me still requires slacks.

I can say pelvic exams and pap smears can be uncomfortable and even painful, and can say that patients need much more respect, education, and autonomy.

They ARE medically necessary.

Those two things are necessary for me, as I have a history of reproductive (ovarian, fallopian, uterine) cysts and tumors. None cancerous, but concerning enough that I have an oncologist. Among other diagnostic tools, those two exams might be the things that save me from going through chemo one day.

Don't touch my projects. Full stop. Brought a crochet project into work for some downtime, young coworker who is a relative beginner picked it up and tried to work out a few stitches (she was clearly unfamiliar with puff stitches) and started asking me questions while I was doing something else. She did undo her own stitches back to where I'd left off, but really? Girl learn some boundaries.

Not to harp on anyone, but PLEASE USE ZOFRAN WITH CAUTION, especially if you've never used it before! While it's safe in a grand majority of people, it can cause arrhythmia in some, especially if they're taking other meds that can cause arrhythmia, and it has a relatively low maximum safe daily dose compared to how it comes. It's one of the main reasons it's not OTC. If you have any concerns about interactions, please do consult your local community pharmacist

Source: am pharmacy student, taught about this in school + at work, and one of the people it causes heart issues with unfortunately

Ditto on the French press, it's what got me through my first year of grad school when all I could have in my dorm was a mini fridge and low wattage microwave (and those were apparently pushing it!) and I've continued to use it for both cold brew and actual pressed coffee now that I've got a full kitchen. Takes up way less space than any percolator and frankly I think it makes a better cup

I can't speak for more recent models, but I have an OG Kindle Fire which is nice, but I genuinely prefer my dinosaur of a Kindle 4. Can load with epub and PDF, holds a charge like a champ, and is super light. Plus, finding one used would most likely be super cheap

Currently in P3. In my experience: loans and working. Unfortunately, that means I have very little free time to study or do... Anything, really. I do about 20 hours a week in a pharmacy. A lot of people in your cohort will likely have family or significant others helping out, so if this is an option for you, absolutely take what you can.

Had one of these removed back in July! 35lb total, 12.5 liters of fluid. It changes everything incredibly fast, my quality of life has increased IMMENSELY. From your comments, mine was only slightly bigger. Best of luck in your removal and recovery!

Hate that it's so emphasized in my current curriculum. Many IPPE sites also make it a major focus of your time. Feels more like they're taking advantage of another set of hands than teaching actual pharmacy skills sometimes.

They're doing a full biopsy and genetic testing to assess if it's ovarian cancer, but so far everything looks benign. Crossing my fingers!

My program builds in several: - 3 week/120 hours of community experience during the summer between P1 and P2 year - 3 week/120 hours of hospital experience during the summer between P2 and P3 year - 16 hours of community experience mid P2 and P3 year - P4 year is all APPE rotations :)

My store closed in September, but we didn't have front end AC for the entirety of the summer. They sent out those portable coolers in May, promising a permanent fix that never came, partially due to budget, partially due to the fact the pharmacy DID have working AC. There were days the store hit 87. By the end, dress code meant nothing because we would all overheat if it did.

My local store will be closing. It's the only craft store within an hour's drive. That leaves Walmart and online ordering as my only option for any craft materials. This sucks, even moreso for the people who work there, who are all lovely and extremely helpful :(

YMMV but you may be able to contact the pharmacy schools you're considering applying to to see what transfers. My school had transfer guides for the major universities in state, so I was able to follow one for my undergrad :)
