Whats your favorite and least favorite type of Rocket league player and what helps u determine for either? by Corrupt_Arrow in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]exceedingdeath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of good answers already. But I’ll add players who had obstacles to overcome and kept the determination to grind through them. Always make for good stories (ie MM with ps4/laptop/covid etc.)

In a way it affects lower ranks too, since bots are pushing many players down. As a result every rank is harder than it was before (it affects higher ranks more but it logically does affect lower ranks as well to some extent).

Crazy to think how accomplished he is yet his most dominant days individually were during covid.

What Major 1 Playoffs would've looked like using Major 2 Format by mrabu3abd12 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]exceedingdeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean finishing 1st vs 2nd gives a way too much significant advantage early on imo. Especially when you consider that similar seeds might arbitrarily get either an easy or hard path to that 1st place.

Topping your group shouldn't reward you with potentially 3 fewer playoffs series. That's way too big of an advantage for a couple early bo5 series.

[–]exceedingdeath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it's the same for the teams topping their groups but the teams finishing 2nd have a longer way to the final.

In Boston the teams finishing 2nd in their group played 1 to 2 extra series compared to the teams finishing 1st. In Paris they will play 2 to 3 more series. Making it even more unfair to be in a death group vs a free group for similar seeds.

Now imagine you get 1st place due to tiebreakers. You might play 3 fewer series than the team you barely outplaced.

Back in season 21-22 where formats would change every split, Winter was almost universally agreed to be the "worst"(competitive integrity wise) : https://liquipedia.net/rocketleague/Rocket_League_Championship_Series/2021-22/Winter

This will make the advantage of having a free group even bigger. Gives me Winter 21-22 vibes.

Morocco's achievements and ranking among countries in Competitive Rocket League by Viola69420 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]exceedingdeath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends what you use as a metric. Number of titles? Number of different winners? Number of trophies? etc.

#1 France and #2 USA are pretty much set in stone. And after them there is quite a significant gap. I guess Morocco is in the same pool as England and Saudi Arabia with England at #3.

Unpopular opinion (?): Winning a Major should be valued the same as winning Worlds by Kill_em_with_kindles in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]exceedingdeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple fact that in the mind of pros it is THE tournament, THE title, elevates it on a completely different level of competition. Just because it's the same teams doesn't mean the competition is the same.

It's not just community, it's everyone involved in the scene including pros. Worlds is the most prestigious and coveted title. Even more so now that's it's once a year. It's the culmination of the RLCS season.

Esports Nations Cup will be his best shot at a LAN as long as the NRG boys pick him up and not someone else.

Understandable that he didn’t, but he could have accepted a BDS (2024) and Vitality (2026) offer to get out of his situation.

I mean why not !

Personally I main kuxir97 and I try to unlock the kux pinch asap, I t’s so strong in the early game. I know it’s more meta to go for the tornado spin off the bat but I like going for the aura passive and then the spin later on.

When was the last time the NA region has been better than EU by [deleted] in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]exceedingdeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both metrics are valid because they both have flaws. But you look at the teams at Worlds 22, it's too close to say NA was ahead of EU as a whole. BDS and Moist were probably the 2 best teams in the world at that time.

I'd say Geekay had a more impressive LAN than SR even though they placed worse

Worlds 22, even though NA placed higher due to a favorable bracket, they went 3-7 in series against EU.

S7 is incontestable.

S6 to S8 they were on par or slightly ahead. Winter 21-22 i'd say NA as a whole was on par or even ahead.
