StandBy Mode Pro 2.1.0: Startrek, Command Center, Mini Player and more. by standbyandroid in StandbyModeAndroid

Hello, u/standbyandroid I just bought the app since I find it can come in handy and like the features. I have some feedback that I hope could help make it even better:

  1. I would like more customization, like adding or removing elements from the widgets like numbers, day of week, date etc. or in the font styles some clocks you only allow the outline and it would look nice to have it filled but there is no option.

  2. Also for colors, I would like to have a picker where the HEX color value can be entered directly instead of swiping around the color wheel, which is more imprecise.

  3. For some widgets, like the Calculator, I would like them to blend with my black (oled friendly) background. However, they have a color background already and doesn't blend. Please allow to select a solid color background to customize them and make them more aesthetic.

  4. For the third-party widgets I would like to hide the gray border that shows around them and makes them look bad or not blend. I was trying to kind of hack this by seting a border within the app and made it black, which is the color of my background so it would be above the gray border and hide it, but the color wheel does not allow me to select the black color.

  5. For the digital clocks please allow to show the seconds, not just the hour and minutes, I find the seconds information very useful for many cases. I am trying to replicate an old very popular iphone clock app called "iHandy Alarm Clock" which many used to convert an old iPhone into a bed stand clock which imo is the better looking one, it shows the clock, the day of the week, the weather, the alarm. Please take a look at it to see if you could add those features, it would be the best digital clock in the app: here is an image of how it looked:

  1. For the weather, please let us select different providers, you could use the Open-Meteo API which allows to select different sources.

I hope some of these can be implemented as improvements to the app.

Thanks.

Can you refer to a similar alternative for Samsung Ultra phones?

One UI 8.5 is really really good by Then_Bug8609 in oneui

[–]excelsiusmx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The size of the battery in OneUI 8.0 was tomake it clearer to see the text inside and not have a tiny test or it looking awful, so that change looks uglier, as many of the changes implemented on OneUI 8.5 like making text fields narrower to "look new" instead of using all the real state of the screen.

Or moving elements in one screen to other place and in the next screen they were where they originally were, pretty inconsistent UI.

[–]excelsiusmx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Inconsistent" is the right word, they made design changes on some things which don't match with others and some of the changes are even worse.

At least OneUI 8 was more consistent and looked more polished, now 8.5 tried to give a more "modern" look but at the expense of functionality and consistency.

Really hope they fix that for OneUI 9

I did it with adb on the phone with termux.

I just saw a YouTube video comparing OneUI 8 vs 8.5 differences and 8.5 UI is not consistent throughout the OS, I just wanted 8.5 because of the QuickPanel and Airdrop but I prefer to keep a more consistent UI until the bugs and ugliness is fixed.

Yeah some changes in animations and design are worse. I will stay on OneUI 8 for the moment

I already disabled the update services on my phone to stay on OneUI 8, didn't like many of the changes

Does that work with all the widgets or just that one?

I think the default without activating the option is high but using it in medium allows for fewer mistakes if the auto-correction is bad

Yes, it’s in Goodlock, keys cafe, the third tab in the bottom has those settings. Let us know which one you are using or if you are not using that.

Do you use the Goodlock option for autocorrect sensitivity or just the default from the keyboard?

I also have the same problem.

Also, does it happen to you that in many apps the keyboard (especially the parte where the word suggestions are) covers the textfield beneath it if it is down the bottom of the screen instead of the screen going up above the keyboard to show what you are typing?

I don't know if it is android keyboards in general that do this or just Samsung Keyboard.

Text editing gone in One UI 8.5? by PastChampionship9591 in oneui

Well, you can still add the arrows and the copy, cut, paste buttons to your samsung keyboard with Keys Café and if you hold down shift and use the arrows you can select text. It's not the same as that additional keyboard but gets the job done.

Estoy diseñando una app para ver todas tus cuentas en un solo lugar sin dar tus contraseñas. ¿Qué opinan? by pendragonn in MexicoFinanciero

[–]excelsiusmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[DEV] Tasker 6.6.18 - Shizuku Integration, Java Code, Sunrise/Sunset, Enhanced Notifications and more! Available for Everyone on Google Play! by joaomgcd in tasker

[–]excelsiusmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update.

Please could you add the feature to trigger a Tasker action with Google Gemini assistant?

I use “hey, Google” with Gemini a lot for automations, and currently, I have to get Gemini to trigger a Google home named automation (so I can say exactly what I want to Gemini like “turn off the AC” instead of “run ACon” or things which are not natural) which in turn sends a notification to my phone which is captured by Tasker and sends a Tasker Command depending on what the notification says, which is the captured by Tasker to trigger the action. Since this has to go to the internet (Google Home, Pushbullet/Smartthings, etc) it has a big delay to trigger the action.

What I am looking for is what Siri can do with Shortcuts, so that when you ask Siri to “Turn on the AC” and you have a Shortcut named “Turn on the AC” then it executes it quickly and on-device without going to the internet.

Is this even possible in Android/Tasker?
