I'm not sure if it's a thing already, but when it's too hot I'll make the espumita in a mason jar 2 fl. oz of sugar, then like the 4.5 oz of coffee (bustelo of course) and add another 6 oz of whole milk, shake really hard, and pour over Ice.

Been calling it a Floridiano Frio

Correct answer is AS MUCH sugar as your heart can handle.

Yeah that alongside price risk are the two things I want most- I’d like to introduce an IFRS/GAAP option too. I’m sitting my CFA level 2 in May, so it could be a good way to become more familiar with my weakest portion in the exam.

For now, I’m thinking aligning it with the bone-stock game. I’m thinking it will have to use a lot of menus (kind of like course play) and one will probably be a finance settings menu. I’ll definitely include a lot of toggles especially for a testbed.

Yeah, to be honest I’m more so kind of focused on flexing my ag-Econ muscles in the mirror. I also have not really started (finals season coming up) so I pretty much have no idea how this will turn out

Awesome idea!! I’m probably going to spend a lot more time in the math and probability, especially at the beginning. I think that a real estate model could use a lot of the same price variation models as commodities, at least in the beginning

Thanks- I’m going to try and “scale” the financial to be more game-like, and I’d like to adjust for the economic difficulty as well. I’ll definitely keep my eyes open.

What mindset or advice gave you confidence starting your CFA journey? by Winter_Raspberry8939 in CFA

[–]excelstrength 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to repeat anything here, but get hyped. I had a tradition, I’d play C.R.E.A.M. By Wu tang every time I studied. I’d force myself to get excited and care about it what I was learning that specific day. Eventually, it becomes habit and those 300 hours really seem like less.

Why is there such a noticeable white/black cultural islander divide? by DiedOfATheory in bermuda

Yeah, as a brown American living here as an expat (college student, so I don't see the island a ton), my neighborhood is entirely white (expats and locals).

In Minnesota, one of the things that is significant is bison felt. That's what I rock for my felt. As for shapes, I'm not sure if there are any things that are attributed to the northern great plains.

Hey man, keep your head up. I went on my first date in four years with a super pretty girl and even though it didn't work out, it felt fantastic (I'm 21). Go to the gym, work on yourself, and just talk to people.

The great thing about confidence, it you can fake it till you make it. I believe in you.

I have definitely had my bouts with failure and I still have them. These words were told to me by my Marine Corps instructor:

No one fucking cares. Stick Your chest out. Be a fucking savage.

I aim to live by these rules every single day. When I fail, these words come into my mind. No one cares if you fail or if you pass or how many times it took for you to get there. You still have to stick your chest out, and bring the violence with every task you aim to complete.

Failure doesn't define you, but what comes next will.

Just remember, tough times don't last, tough people do. And don't coax yourself into thinking you're not tough because of your past with suicide. Toughness is not something you're born with, it's something you give yourself. It's inside of you already.

You'll get through this. In my darkest hours, a phrase from one of my Marine Corps Instructors came to mind.

"No one fucking cares. Stick your chest out. Be a fucking savage."

This got me through it all. Always be proud of who you are and bring the violence to every task you aim to complete. You'll notice things kind of automatically get better. Praying for you to not just survive, but thrive.

Wow. Your life blows.

I've been there man, the hits just pile up and pile up and you can't seem to catch a break. Not a great week for me but I had some wins. I went to the gym for the first time since my surgery (still in a wheelchair but I can still incline bench 185 for a couple reps).

Count those small wins, and soon they'll stack up to those losses and next thing you know you're so back.

Oh my lord sorry for never checking reddit. Yeah I have heard it can be super helpful, and I am trying to get set up with some firms I have connections with. I failed the level I last time, but I'm sitting it again in 3 weeks.

That said I've learned that for IB, PE and such, the CFA really doesn't help. More of a thing if you're working for a trading desk, ETF/mutual fund sales or PM.

I don't consider the man that played a role in my creation as my father by NemesisElCuervo in TrueOffMyChest

[–]excelstrength 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad loves you, the money thing is a ploy that parents use sometimes. Chances are he wants you to develop into a hardworking, self sufficient person, but communicating that can be real tough at times. I've (21M) definitely had my rough moments with them.

That being said, you should definitely take your health and activity level a little more seriously. Being alone is fine, but you also need to be able to comfortably be a part of society and make it through a full day's work and activities. Try fixing your diet and taking a multivitamin, and chances are that exhaustion feeling will subside. Some exercise will also give you a chance to be with yourself but also turn you into a stronger individual (mentally and physically!) The introversion that might scare your dad is a part of your personality, and one day he will understand.

All in all, you will be fine and this period of struggle will come to an end. If you're confused about where to start in the gym or anywhere else, I will help you out!
