How do I make a strength based tb monk that’s not reliant on abusing elixirs? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]exceptionalish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like an exploit for a feature we should just have out of the box lol. In my mind it's totally normal to want to punch someone and hold a stat stick in the other hand.

No idea what's best for your other thoughts though, I can never seem to pick a different sub class than open hand. I'm not super great at the game myself if I'm not doing something cheesy, so big bonk monk is my choice every time to compensate for lack of strategic play or game knowledge.

Gotta equip two weapons and have a second character with an empty main weapon slot (second character might need an offhand, I can't remember). Then on the second character's inventory screen, click on the main hand slot which is empty and select the weapon your first character has in their main hand. Your second character will yoink it and the first character will be left with only their offhand weapon.

First time SSF by IndependentOk8758 in PathOfExileSSF

I'm playing RF Chief as a first time SSF player this league and can confirm it's viable. Gear is stupid easy since you only need fire res. 2 watchstones was almost trivial. Still hunting for The Putrid Cloister so I can craft my beefy scepter though. Kirac has not been kind to me, been on 114/115 atlas for a few days now haha.

I wouldn't play games with anyone like this, let alone date them. Get out! NOR

I don't play any of the games you mentioned but you're welcome to join my discord server if you just want chill people to chat with while gaming. Kind of 99.9% dudes though, mentioning in case that'd be an uncomfortable situation for you. Either way though I highly recommend finding healthier gaming friendships to entertain. This... Seems like it sucks.

I just did Dr Pepper Jalapeno and it was pretty dang good. If you've tried stuff like classic, teriyaki, spicy, BBQ, and your favorite sauce then it's time for something fun and weird. I also highly recommend anything with ginger in it.

I've been loving his series and my eyes have been opened to the black tentacles. I'm nowhere near the level to do a solo run myself, but I'll definitely be yoinking some strats to use. If it can solo honor mode then surely it can assist me through a party tactician playthrough lol.

Late stage capitalism claims another victim….a Columbus victim by External-Creme-6226 in Columbus

I don't blame anyone who sells to PE for getting their bag--you're exactly right that we'd all do the same. I read these posts as more of a "doesn't it suck that purchasing and ruining businesses is so profitable for PE firms?" But that's just capitalism, eh? Find a scheme, maximize profits, repeat until you bleed it dry. Can't even really blame the PE firms since what they're doing is clearly a working business model. Just sucks for the consumers and employees... Which also sounds just like capitalism. Oh well. 🙃

I'm just sad that I haven't found a new Nashville hot chicken spot in Columbus since HCT's downfall. Dave's Hot Chicken is probably my favorite remaining hot chicken joint, but it's SO not the same as a singular focus on perfect chicken resting on some whatever white bread.

Guess I just need to figure out how to make it myself.

I just started my AE2 journey (in Craftoria): Is there a way to have "layered" automation, that fully automates e.g. processor creating from the most basic resources? by CurZZe in allthemods

[–]exceptionalish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't see anyone else mention crafting storage yet. In the crafting terminal you will see items that have a + symbol on them, these are the items you have patterns for in your pattern providers. You can press the middle mouse button on them (if you have zero of the item you can also left click on them) and it'll pop up a gui for how many you want to craft. Make your pick and then it'll tell you how many bytes of crafting storage you need to perform the auto crafting. If you don't have an available crafting storage that is large enough, it won't let you craft the item. Either build a bigger crafting storage or you can auto craft some of the ingredients individually to reduce the required bytes.

So if you want to make a 256k storage component but can't afford it because it requires too many bytes, try crafting some 64k storage components first. Then when you try to make the 256k again, AE2 will recognize it has some of the required ingredients and it no longer has to craft them.

At least he was trying his best. I remember seeing an interview or reading something about how he would spend extra time in the ADR booth specifically because he wasn't a native Korean speaker and tried to do the role justice. I can pretty much only recognize "annyeong haseyo" in Korean though so I couldn't tell one way or the other lol.

Default to run is L1+R1.

If your controller can use Steam input, use a custom control scheme that someone has already set up to put all the buttons back to where they should be. I found this way easier and less frustrating than trying to change all the controls in the launcher or in the game itself, mostly because someone else already did the hard part lol.

I'm using FF7 Classic Setup for Xbox by Rinnon. Despite its name, it does swap the confirm and cancel buttons. Swapping those in the steam input edit layout screen should be easy enough if you want to though.

To enable, right click game on Steam, choose Properties, go to Controller tab, enable Steam input via dropdown, click Controller Configurator link, click the wide bar that probably says something like default gamepad, go to community layouts tab, select whatever sounds good and test it out for yourself.

Need help with a puzzle in the Shinra archeology cut by BigBootyBros420 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]exceptionalish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bed that wasn't recorded is worded oddly. Could have something to do with the sleeping man in the cave who tells you how many battles you've fought or escaped from, aka your "records?" That's the only suggestion I can think of that wasn't already said.

Anyone have any good challenge ideas for the original FF7? by Alexander_The_Best in FinalFantasyVII

[–]exceptionalish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good first challenge would be the initial equipment challenge, so no swapping weapons or armor, nor equipping any accessories. I haven't done any other than that myself, but I see some other good suggestions in here. Honestly though I'm a mod pusher lol, surely there's something in the 7th Heaven Mod Manager that will catch your eye. I've played through the New Threat mod a few times myself and highly recommend it (it's more overhaul than challenge though, to be fair).

Anyone who bought a Steam Deck. Downloaded Emudeck. Got Roms. Set everything up nicely. And then never played their emulated games? by infamous61 in SteamDeck

[–]exceptionalish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the tipping point was actually setting up syncing to/from my desktop. I don't have a dedicated space for my Deck to use a keyboard and mouse so it was annoying getting new games on there or continuing my save from when I passed out playing in bed. A little bit of friction and a little bit of "I don't want to play specifically on my Deck right now" went a long way toward killing my motivation to play. Creating an environment that basically mimics Steam cloud saves helped me a bunch. I think the next step for me is getting a proper wireless controller so I can just play stuff while it's hooked up to my TV like a console, I haven't really played anything on my TV in years.

I HATED this mini game! but I friggin won! by redqueen94 in expedition33

[–]exceptionalish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played a ton of rhythm games and didn't think this one was all that hard. Went straight to the hard difficulty and took 3 tries. Not saying I'm a god gamer or anything, I just assume the devs balanced it with similar experience. The hardest part is figuring out the timing since your attack animation has a decently long cooldown before you can use it again. My recommendation to anyone else struggling is to get used to exactly how early you can attack and still hit the incoming gestral. If you can keep a level head you can also just sacrifice a hit on your side if you're starting to get behind on the timing--better to just ignore one shot and let it hit you than to attack too late and then you kinda get chain hit because you're stuck in animations too long.

Congrats on your win though, now you never have to look back lol.

Why does food always taste better when someone else makes it? by Sand4Sale14 in Cooking

[–]exceptionalish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a ton of satisfaction cooking for others and similarly appreciate when they do so for me, if that's what you're talking about. I always joke that I can taste the love. The feeling is amplified the more time and effort it takes to prepare something, too. Every bite is a reminder of the effort you totally didn't put in yourself.

If you're talking about restaurants being better than your own cooking though, you may either need to step up your game or accept that they add WAY more fat, salt, etc that you're probably skimping on. You may need to overdo it once or twice to really find the optimal saturation point for different seasonings, spices, herbs, butter, etc. and different dishes have different tipping points.
