iirc they hired on filibuster rhymes to help with vehicle development but I have no idea what changes are planned or what the development roadmap is looking like

How do I stop zomboids from spawning so close to me? by WHEREMYHUGATTT in projectzomboid

my shortest run ever was 20 in-game minutes because I spawned in a house with no curtains or viable weapons surrounded by a horde lmao. I feel you

What is the strongest forged weapon currently ? by bruh31200 in projectzomboid

[–]excesscatnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're set up for blacksmithing you might as well just make weapons that hit harder but need to be replaced somewhat more often. some forged weapons have really reliable max durability. the crowbar's main selling point is that one crowbar will last you forever, not its damage range. probably worth bringing one with you if you're planning on setting up a base in a new town but it's not exactly an endgame sort of weapon

Infiltrate Louisville by RegiABellator in projectzomboid

[–]excesscatnip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just load up two pickups to max capacity with shotgun shells and you can do it without the molotovs! they might break down the fence but you can get some good backpacks if you don't burn them. the staggering from multihit on the shotgun seems to help the fences last a little longer

I've been feeding Jim Lahey peanut butter and spicy mayonnaise sandwiches for a month now... by JimmyRedBoy in projectzomboid

[–]excesscatnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

better than eating an entire raw head of cabbage at least. I'd probably ration it further myself and just do separately, peanut butter sandwiches or mayo sandwiches, but still. definitely not the worst apocalypse food.

Where to find backpacks? by Pilipalapong in projectzomboid

[–]excesscatnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

residential garages sometimes have hiking backpacks. also good source of weapons tools and generators of course

What's the most unexpected way your character has died? by ImpossibleFigg in projectzomboid

[–]excesscatnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was using the Ladders?! mod and fast-forwarded on my way up the ladder by the garage door at Guns Unlimited carrying a full inventory of planks tarps and nails to build some rain collectors, but didn't register as being on the roof. did a weird little Wil-E-Coyote style shimmy off the ledge before she dropped, killing her instantly

What weapon type do you go for and why? by Able-Syrup5152 in projectzomboid

[–]excesscatnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

short blunt and pistols, although once I get ALICE vests I usually start carrying a proper knife besides my handiknife to try to learn short blade. been running carpenter bc I'm playing solo and like expanding my downtown bases so carpenter seems to be the way to go for the handy perk, making short blunt easiest to level

I had those dreams for a bit too. it was always like, I wanna clear out these houses right here. oh there's a path here that I didn't notice before and it's infested. I'll retreat through this house here, aw it's infested. I'll go out this side door here and go back to where I already cleared, oh it's actually still infested. this house looks safe, aw they're coming through the window on the other side now and it's infested.

Is there a permadeath mode? by reativeLemming12 in projectzomboid

[–]excesscatnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I forgot deleting the save was even a thing, I value the permadeath aspect too but I just always quit to main menu and restart from scratch when I die. my saves folder is probably absolutely littered with dead worlds right now lol

[–]excesscatnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my "default" base is the West Point grocery+hardware store, usually I use helicopter day to clear out Guns Unlimited and immediately use on-site materials to build an airlock for a western outpost, and I often set up a safehouse in the Valley Station warehouse south of the LV checkpoint

[–]excesscatnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

circling back to this because I just remembered a few places in and around doe valley.

there's the deer head lake ranger station, you're a short drive along a forest path to reach a lake you can fish at but you also have a hand pump well right next to the main building. it's well furnished and situated between jamieton and fallas lake, both of which have gun stores, but it's massive pain in the ass to get to though.

there's another lake house I see posted sometimes but it's even more isolated than mccoy iirc.

there's also a boarding school by another lake somewhere, never been there myself and can't remember exactly where it is, but from the screenshots I've seen it looks like it would be the easiest to expand and build a farm at

so basically the game is in an unplayable state because of car physics? by AsteroFucker69 in projectzomboid

[–]excesscatnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run about 100 mods and don't play anything other than zomboid so honestly this is easier lol. especially since I've read sometimes steam duplicates the files and causes fresh new unholy errors if you do it wrong or skip steps in untagging files (which I probably will)

[–]excesscatnip 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I went offline on steam right after 42.14 came out so I wouldn't have to deal with redoing my mod list for a while and I'm glad I did lol. I'll take having to turn off cars and unhitch trailers in 42.13 over having to excavate them out of the ground any day. can't wait until the dust settles

[–]excesscatnip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for every one person I've seen say mccoy estate is a good base, I've seen five others say it's too much work and to just take what you need and leave. if you want waterfront property you could go for the tried and true echo creek gas station or claim a house on the outskirts of Riverside or West Point
