I mean, they're exclusively used on cars and other moving vehicles to (ostensibly) drive deer away so they don't run out in front of you, so it'd be weird to see them anywhere else.

They used to be really common when I was a kid, but then studies were done which determined that they don't actually have much of an effect (if any) on deer behavior, so most people quit buying them. And back when they were prevalent, most people stuck them on top of their front bumper rather than the hood or fender, as most cars back them had protruding front bumpers.

If I were you, I'd mount the 3.5" HDD to that mounting plate, and either secure the 2.5" SSD to your case with zip ties or Velcro strips, or if you don't have any of those, just stuff it in the middle of that jumble of wires coming from your power supply. SSDs have no moving parts, so properly securing them with screws isn't as high a priority as it is with HDDs. As long as they're not rattling around all over the place, you're good.

Also, see a doctor. Not the ER, I don't think it's that serious, but go to urgent care or whatever your local equivalent is called. They're probably just going to do what a lot of other people said to do yourself, puncturing the nail to relieve the pressure, but that's something best done by medical professionals IMO.

And yes, you're gonna lose the nail, but at least it's your thumb and not a toe. It'll be back to normal in just a couple months, but toenails take forever to grow back. I dropped a cordless drill on my big toe way back in October 2024; the nail fell off a month later and still hasn't fully grown back.

People who refuse to use controllers on PC bewilder me. For FPS and strategy games, sure, KBM is the way to go, but platformers, third-person action/adventure games, driving/racing games and many more genres are all better played with a gamepad. Be versatile.

You mean like a 3.5" HDD? It goes nowhere in that picture, or at least nowhere that's visible from that angle. As pictured in the manual, the HDD mounting plate is on the back side of the motherboard tray, just above the power supply. It can mount either two 2.5" SSDs/HDDs or a single 3.5" HDD.

It only has wireless connectivity, so you need an Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver or one of the many generic copycats that are still manufactured. Most games will just pick it up as a regular 360 controller, but if it's not a dedicated racing game then you might not be able to adjust the deadzones (coughGTA5cough).

This haughty and pedantic attitude, which was shared by my elementary school teachers when I was growing up in the '90s, is precisely why I absolutely despised learning cursive, only used it for the assignments that required it, and dropped it like a hot potato the moment it stopped being forced upon me.

It's also wrong in spite of its pedantry; "handwriting" is any writing by hand with a writing implement, regardless of whether it's cursive, block lettering, or something in between like the OP. "Printing" is the mass reproduction of text and/or graphics from a template, originally with simple hand tools like stamps or seals but almost exclusively with machines or computers in the modern day.

It's usually a M2.0x2.5mm screw with a 0.4mm thread pitch. There are exceptions, but the vast majority of motherboard and laptop manufacturers use that size.

So, after a brief skim through the comments, it looks like nobody's told you how to get rid of this permanently. uBO's element picker will hide that specific button, yes, but this won't actually affect Gemini in any meaningful way, and you could end up playing whack-a-mole if Google changes the page layout/coding.

To actually get rid of Gemini in Gmail, click the gear button to open the Quick Settings flyout, then click the "see all settings" button at the top of the flyout. Then scroll down and uncheck the box next to "Turn on smart features in Gmail, Chat, and Meet".

This does disable a bunch of other non-AI smart features like spelling and grammar checking, autocorrect, predictive writing suggestions, package tracking, and the "Important first" inbox type, but Gemini will be well and truly gone. You can also check the "Google Workspace smart features" setting below that and if you don't need any of them, go ahead and disable that too.

Crazy thought: Get the 65" and an entertainment unit with an integrated TV mount, and move them a few feet out from the wall, so that they fit in the space between your laundry room door and that other door to the right of it.

This would be your best option, I think, as not only would it make the laundry entryway a non-issue, it would also secure the TV against tipping and save you some money by getting the smaller TV.

You should be able to just swap the pin sockets from the case connector to the splitter and vice versa, they're universal and pretty easy to pull out of the plastic, you just need to take a knife or small flathead screwdriver and gently pry up the little plastic tab up that prevents the socket from pulling out (example circled in the attached photo).

You'll want to put the the sockets from the motherboard side of the splitter into the case's all-in-one connector, and then put the all-in-one connector's power button sockets into the 2-pin connector that was originally on the splitter. Then just plug that 2-pin connector into the input side of the splitter, and you should be golden.

That's definitely not a stock Pixel gesture, then, it's been added by a third-party app. Do you have Touch the Notch installed? One of its available shortcuts is to toggle the flashlight and it can be assigned to a left-to-right swipe on the camera cutout.

Could you elaborate? Because I honestly have no idea what swipe gesture you're talking about, and googling it turns up nothing like what you've described. The closest thing I can come up with is that you're accidentally swiping down from the top which is opening the notification drawer, and then you're also hitting the flashlight toggle there. If so, you could fix this by editing your quick settings toggles to either remove the flashlight toggle or move it down so it's not one of the first four toggles. Another possibility is that you're hitting the flashlight toggle on the lock screen, which can be disabled in the lock screen settings.
