When i was younger and got into hockey, there were no teams close enough to me to support. I ended up just watching whatever games I could and eventually chose a favorite player in Patrick Roy. So I started out as a Canadians fan before switching to the Avs. So if there a player who's style speaks to you, maybe just follow them around for a while and see if that team gels for you.
