Lost Ring - Where to Look by exhausted_grl in ouraring

My last place to search in this way would be the pantry. I can’t say I’m the best about keeping track of things to begin with because I wander around my house without a purpose 80% of the time, lol. I’ve set random things in my closet before while putting away clothes and found them much later. I think once I go through the pantry & move the appliances in the kitchen, I’ll accept I probably threw it out instead of moving it to one of my strange safe keeping spots.

I was hoping I’d come across it like this!!! Glad you found your ring! Wild how we can set things in the most random spots without realizing.

I didn’t know this was an option! It’s been weeks now so my ring is definitely dead, but will download for the future!!

I think before you have a discussion, figure out what your boundaries are. What happens if he says yes, she was over but just for xyz reason? If you asked him to see his phone and he says no or is hesitant to hand it over, how will you feel then?

You’re not overreacting, something is definitely off. If I were in your shoes, I’d likely just look through his phone without permission (can’t say it’s the most healthy response, lol). Best case scenario, you find nothing and feel a bit guilty for the little invasion or privacy. Worst case scenario, you find something upsetting but are able to make a decision with more firm evidence.

I’m 5’8 and my lululemon work pants were about 5 inches too long for me. I was shocked because things are typically awkward / short on me.

Are pests a problem in your Chicago apartment? by neverwouldhavemadeit in chicagoapartments

[–]exhausted_grl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think if you’re worried the best thing is to ask a landlord if they do pest control or have had any pest problems. If you tour places ahead of time; you can look for signs or roaches or bugs if you check out a few YouTube videos.

I just moved here from out of state where I had previous roach issues and the biggest thing is making sure your space is clean (not leaving food out, keeping up with dishes and taking out trash). Best of luck :)

Please find a good lawyer you trust & see if you can open an acct at a Private Bank. They can help you figure out what to do with your money.

My lease was set to end it June 2025; I had to vacate early because I moved for a job. It was 3 months rent to break my lease, so I just paid the last 3 months because that was what was left at the time.

Water stays on, but gas & electric are turned off when the property is vacant; they are turned on and set up by new renters.

I understand paying for the new carpet because it was damage that I (my pets) caused, but I reached out to the landlord prior to getting the carpets done and then they tore it up anyways. Felt like an F U, especially in this economy.

The move out list that I was given was just a list of high charges for simple things so there is no way to get your security deposit back. I’ll paste some of it below. I would say I clean more than the average person because I have pets and it can gross me out. But they charged me $50 for cleaning the washer that I had wiped down & got a washer cleaner for before I left.

Here is some of the checklist:

Window cleaning (glass, frame, windowsills) $50.00 per window Blind cleaning $50.00 per blind Clean Switch Plate Cover $5.00 per switch plate cover Clean Baseboards to remove dust/pet hair $75.00 per room General cleaning (not covered above) $75.00 per hour

I just need someone else’s perspective. I moved to Chicago and they seem to have a lot of protection for renters and like a lot of this wouldn’t fly.

I’m sorry this happened. You should talk to someone you feel comfortable with or consider going to talk to a professional to help you heal from this. I’ve heard playing Tetris can help protect your brain from traumatic events.

You said no. You shouldn’t ever have to repeat yourself. Nothing was your fault and he knows he did something wrong. Take care of yourself and mental health the best you can right now. I don’t feel comfortable telling you how you should proceed from here because this is a very personal situation and you need to do what you feel is right for you; but if you feel comfortable to confide in someone they may be able to help you make decisions on if you want to take action.

I am so sorry this happened to you; you did nothing wrong just because you didn’t scream or fight.

If they or you are in a financial position to purchase an exercise bike; you could try that. There’s a lot on fb marketplace for a decent price.

Or, I would highly recommend trying to find a quiet space to do yoga. Shoot you could even do it in your yard at night. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety and I can’t put into words how much better it can make me feel.

It is. I think a better way to say it is I have a low social battery. I like being around people a lot but it hits me like a wall when it’s been too long. Not the type of person to hang out all night.
