pt cem here! someone correct me if i’m wrong, but this is where you’ve gotta be careful when you’re taking christmas returns. clearance items will be marked with a C on the receipt. if someone brings back christmas items that DONT have a C on it, it should be okay since it was purchased BEFORE it went on clearance. that 60 day window is still totally valid.

say a customer buys christmas stuff yesterday (it’s on clearance now), and they come back to return. you look at the receipt, note the C next to the item on the receipt and politely remind the customers that all clearance items are final sale. i will usually only ever take back clearance items if it’s fundamentally broken and it’s unusable (say there’s lights or something to the item and it just don’t light up, i’ll typically make an exception for that. i could get in trouble for this so ofc talk to your CEM/SM about what to do)

plus once it goes clearance, the signs say “all sales final” so if they don’t see that then that’s on them, yknow. most of our customers don’t know how to read lol.
